The Old Rectory Guest House
The Old Rectory Guesthouse, originally a Church of Ireland rectory, was built in 1896 to house the rector of St John's, Malone and has been a family run business for over 25 years. Our comfortable Victorian property, is situated in leafy South Belfast, close to all transport links, with complimentary on-site car parking.

We are 4 star Northern Ireland Tourist Board accredited. It is an 8-10 minute walk to the US Embassy & the Ulster Independent Clinic, a 15 minute walk to Kingsbridge Private Hospital and 8-10 minutes by bus to the city centre. In the cooler months, October to March - we serve guests a complimentary hot Irish whiskey at 7.30pm in the drawing room.
Services
The Old Rectory is a Northern Ireland Tourist Board registered 4 Star guesthouse and has been family owned and run for the last 24 years. The Old Rectory was built in 1896 for Rev Richard Seaver, minister of nearby St John's Parish Church, Malone. Henry Seaver, brother of the minister, was the architect of both St John's Church and the Victorian Rectory.
This double en-suite room is located on the ground floor (for disabled access) and overlooks the garden to the rear of the house. It has a king size bed (5'x 6'6) and a double sized shower. There is a comfortable sofa (with fully sprung mattress for conversion to single bed) and writing desk. Nearby Myrtlefield park is the site where one of the Stewart family built a gentleman's residence and named it for his wife, Myrtle.
The Old Rectory Guesthouse offers free, off-street parking and is situated on a bus route into Belfast city centre. It is 8-10 minutes by bus into the centre, with buses running every 15/20 minutes, from the stop opposite the house. We are a 10 minute walk to the US Embassy & the Ulster Independent Clinic, a 15 minute walk to Stranmillis College & Kingsbridge Private Hospital, and 7 minutes by bus to Queen's University Belfast.
We all know that breakfast is an important part of the day, which is why we offer such a plentiful selection on our breakfast menu and, where possible, use locally sourced produce for our guests. We squeeze our own orange juice daily, make our own raspberry jam and Irish whiskey marmalade, bake our own wheaten, soda, potato breads and make our own bagels and pancetta scones.

The environment is quiet. Very good for taking a retreat to think or cool off. Inside the guest house is clean and nice. Very good for a small budget. The staff are nice, especially the receptionist. Breakfast is great too.

What a lovely place to stay in Belfast! Nestled off the main road & covered in ivy, this B&B is just so quaint. From the entry way to the cozy living/ dining room, you feel like you've stepped back to the early 20th century.

Breakfast orders are taken the day before & you're greeted in the morning with a beautifully laid out table labeled with your room number. Delicious food!!

The rooms are very cozy & decorated with various oriental themed items. Upon going out for the day, leave your key fob on the rack under the stairs.

The proprietor is extremely helpful with

I cannot praise this wonderful bed and breakfast highly enough 100 stars would be nearer the mark. From our arrival our host was extremely kind and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are really cosy and beautifully clean with everything you need for your stay. The breakfast is divine do yourself a favour try everything on the menu if you can you won’t be disappointed. I recommend the Baked eggs. All the ingredients are locally sourced and fresh.
A little way out of the city but the bus service is very regular and a taxi not too expensive.
I look forward to my next visit.

We stayed one night here. Our host was very accommodating and attentive to our needs. The home was decorated with antiques, China, and other decor for a older/well maintained building. The furnishing were very nice and our room was comfortable.
The food was amazing and even had big portions! I definitely recommend the Irish breakfast here!
Thank you for a great stay and fantastic food!

Great location near downtown Belfast. The house is located on a busy street so you will hear some road noise even with the Windows closed.
It was nice that each room had its own bath room which isn't the case in many b&bs. The bedroom we stayed in was good sized. There were a ton of rooms and we were all the way on the third floor.
Check-in was a breeze and the male owner provided us with dinner locations near where we were headed out to that night.
Breakfast was quite good and there were a number of meals to choose from plus and assortment of other items provided in addition to the meal you

We landed in Belfast on Mary's doorstep and felt immediately at home. After a warm welcome we settled into our comfortable, spacious room with large windows, delightful bathroom and sleep-inducing beds. All the amenities were taken care of and we loved the location. Close enough to walk into Belfast if you wish or take the bus with stops just outside the door.
The rectory is a wonderful old place and is full of character. Our breakfast each day was delicious and hot! We really felt like friends instead of guests. Mary was most helpful with tourist information and was so personable. We will stay

What a gem! I stayed here for one night this weekend, was thoroughly enjoyed myself. Our host was most welcoming, and knowing we were attending a wedding gave us a ground floor room so as not to disturb other guests when we returned.

The room was comfortable, with a sofa/flat screen tv and large bed. Our host had even closed the curtains for us before we returned, and ensured there was fresh drinking water available along with tea and coffee. The room had been adapted to provide a large ensuite bathroom, with excellent shower and a selection of shower products.

Breakfast was second to none
