Relate Derby & Southern Derbyshire
Everyone experiences difficulties now and then - it's how you cope with these which makes the difference. Relate is the UK's largest provider of relationship support. Relate Derby and Southern Derbyshire's dedicated team have been supporting local people for over 70 years. Our specially trained counsellors are experienced in working with adults, children and young people.

We work closely with Relate Chesterfield, delivering services across Derbyshire and East Staffordshire. Derby is our main office from where we provide counselling services. However we also have outposts in: Burton, Belper, and Ilkeston. We are a nationally recognised centre for supporting people living with autism.
Services
We offer confidential support to individuals and couples to help them with problems they are experiencing themselves or within their relationship. Relationship counselling helps you to make the most of your relationships, past, present or future. We are often the place people turn to when they face a major crisis in their relationship like divorce or separation, affairs or major conflict.
Relate Derby is funded by the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust through Talking Mental Health Derbyshire to provide free counselling to anyone experiencing anxiety or depression. This service is called IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies.) Across England in the past year over a million people have used IAPT services for help to overcome their depression or anxiety and better manage their mental health.
Sex therapy can help you if you are experiencing difficulties in your love life. All couples go through periods where they don't have the time or energy for regular sex. If this has become the norm and you would like to rediscover your sex life, then Relate's sex therapy programme may be right for you.
Counselling is talking about your problems and worries to a specially trained person. It can help to talk to the counsellor because they are there to listen just to you and give you special listening time. A counsellor won't tell you what to do, but will help you to make your own decisions. What problems can I talk about?
We offer counselling in a wide range of ways so we can do our best to meet your needs, including online, email and phone options. Most people choose to meet face-to-face with their counsellor, but if you're not sure which delivery type you would prefer, take a look at the information below or give us a call.

Report
One of our artists was referred to Relate Derby as she was suffering from anxiety and depression because of issues with her partner. After a few days she thanked us referring her for counselling with Relate Derby. She said that Relate has helped her understand her issues better and both of them are now in a better place mentally and emotionally. Relate counselor was very supportive and her non-medical techniques have certainly helped and improved our relationship and she is able to concentrate at work better.
