Services
The Modern day driver must be a combination of a qualified and competent driver, with relevant and up to date skills. In addition to this, the driver must have the necessary ability to conduct themselves in a professional manner throughout their career. We offer LGV C1 training, LGV Artic or Rigid refresher training, Advanced LGV Training, Reversing Practice / Training Artic or Rigid.
The Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register (ITSSAR) is a self-financing and non profit making organisation, formed to offer the accreditation to training instructors and organisations supplying industrial truck and construction training services to the industry. The standards are relevant, current and comprehensive and far exceed the accrediting bodies' forum 2000.
SRTS's Lorry mounted crane (Hiab) training courses are fully compliant with all HSE recommendations and are done on site or you can come to our Exeter based centre and use our machine. SRTS's ITSSAR course includes pre - use checks, theory examinations, practical operator examinations. A maximum of THREE operators can be trained per ITSSAR course.
Professional Bus, Coach and Lorry drivers are legally required to hold a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence Driver CPC in addition to their vocational driving licence. Driver CPC training is continuing professional development which carries on throughout a professional bus, coach or lorry drivers careers.
SRTS offers ADR training courses including mandatory ADR core modules, ADR package modules, ADR tanker module and ADR dangerous goods classes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9. Initial ADR courses may be taken upon obtaining a full UK driving licence, ADR refresher coursed may be taken 12 months prior to the expiry of a current ADR certificate but not within the last 6 weeks.

Unlike anything I’ve experienced in the form of training. The team are all very approachable and you can have a good conversation with them whilst gaining the expertise they have to offer. Nothing gets left out and they are definitely willing to teach as long as you’re willing to learn. They definitely exceed their reputation. Matt was my trainer and he’s like a drummer in a band, couldn’t do it without him and his drumsticks，learn with them to understand that meaning 😂

Really lovely place to learn to drive. The ladies in the office are extremely helpful and provided all the information and advise you could ever need. Nothing seemed too much hassle. My instructor Matt was great. He was relaxed and gave off calming vibes. Genuinely wanting his students to do well, he is proud to be doing this job and you can tell. He made the learning fun and enjoyably. Never once shouted at me 🤣

I thoroughly recommend the SRTS Team for any driver training you require. Outstanding level of professionalism, and more importantly, a great deal of patience. After a week behind the wheel, I successfully passed my Cat C. Personal thanks to Andy (my instructor) and to Karen and Jim. I shall be back to complete my C+E at some stage and will be looking to put forward several more candidates from my own transport firm, Trans-RT. 5 stars ***** all the way - happy to endorse.

Amazing 🤩 is all I have to say. Andy was really something, he made me feel at ease when I was really nervous and showed me all the possible routes to the test which made it so much easier and more comfortable meaning I passed first time with only a couple of minors. I would highly recommend SRTS as a training school, they make u feel relaxed with their friendly approach and the way they make u feel relaxed right from the start. I thoroughly enjoyed my time being trained up for my cat C licence. I would like to thank Andy and Co for making me feel relaxed and at ease whilst training. I recently completed my class C with SRTS and passed first time. Matt, my instructor for the week, provided a wealth of knowledge and a relaxed training setting that provided me with the tools to comfortably pass the exam. I would highly recommend SRTS to anybody looking to complete any of their additional licenses.

My 27 year old son has always wanted to try his hand at driving a lorry. As he is a keen and able car driver I decided to get him a taster session with SRTS, He spent one and a half hours driving around an airfield and negotiating around cones and corners. His face at the end said it all and he is now applying for a HGV course. His enthusiasm at the end of the session was due in no small way to the Instructor, Andy Luff, who was superb in everyway.
