Services
The Ilkley Osteopathic Practice was established in 2001. The practice partners are Amos Grech-Cini, Robbie Grech-Cini and Louise Judd. Their focus was to create a centre for professional excellence and superior care where patients come first and foremost. This philosophy has helped the practice grow from strength to strength, becoming an integral part of the Wharfedale Community.
Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine that focuses on the detection, diagnosis and treatment of problems within the musculoskeletal system. Osteopaths use a very hands-on approach when examining, and treating a patient. The techniques used are safe and involve manipulation, massage, joint mobilisation and stretching.
General Appointments: Patients are respectfully reminded that the full appointment fee may be charged if 24 hrs notice is not provided when cancelling or rescheduling appointments. All our Osteopaths are registered with the General Osteopathic Council and are covered by all the major Health Insurance Providers.
Osteopathy detects, treats and prevents health problems by stretching and massaging muscles and joints. During pregnancy and post pregnancy this is no different. We can help the natural process of pregnancy and childbirth as your body changes and as your baby grows and develops. During pregnancy, a woman's body makes considerable changes to accommodate her growing baby.
Pilates is a low-impact method of training designed to engage the mind and body. The practice was created in the 1920's by Joseph Pilates to help improve strength, mobility and posture with a particular focus on core postural muscles to improve overall fitness and well-being. One to One Pilates with Angela is a unique, tailor made session designed with your posture, injuries and general health in mind.

15 years of excruciating back pain, numerous failed pain relief tablets, various exercises etc, no dice! One visit and I am a new man, not cured by a mile but to wake on a morning and not climb out of bed like a geriatric is a god send. Thoroughly professional and very reasonably priced, looking forward to my next session!!

Wow! I took my 9-yr-old daughter to see Amos. She had spent an entire day with doctors at the LGI to assess her hip pain (X-rays and blood tests) and they said is was a virus causing her pain. She got worse rather than better over 3 weeks since, and the muscle spasm pain was agony. Amos carefully observed the alignments in her pelvis and diagnosed her issue. He explained everything to her calmly and carefully. He was told her everything he did in his checks before he did it so she was 'on board'. He explained the alignment issue, fixed it and she walked away without using the crutches she came

I like the fact how my therapist explains everything they do. It really helps to understand what I have been doing wrong and correct my posture after treatment.

I feel very fortunate that a colleague recommended I see Amos for the pain in my pelvis.
Amos saw me the next day (even during a pandemic), diagnosed me (which is more than I can say about my GP), and has provided me with effective treatment and support to help me get better.
It's a slow recovery, but without seeing Amos it would have taken even longer to find out what was wrong and fix it. Thank you.

I attended the practice because I had some longstanding pain and finally found the time to do something about it. Chris (the Osteopath) was friendly but efficient, did a thorough assessment, explained his diagnosis clearly and we agreed a clear treatment plan. I wish that I had come sooner and the treatment that I received far exceeded my expectations! Thank you - I would happily recommend Ilkley Osteopathic Practice to anyone!

Before my appointment with Robbie this morning, I was a "Oh, it'll sort itself out," person. The huge improvement in how I feel after one session has taught me the great value of osteopathy and that taking care of my body is about more than just putting it through its paces in the gym. Why do I book my car into the garage as soon as it starts… playing up but ignore the niggles and injuries in my body - just hoping that they'll mysteriously disappear? I would highly recommend the friendly professionalism of this practice and suggest to anyone wavering about seeking advice not to hesitate

A huge thank you to Amos at Ilkley Osteopathic Practice for replacing my displaced rib last night. I'd had eight days of searing chest and back pain after a work incident. I had a 30 minute appointment with Amos last night and I immediately regained full movement of my arm and shoulder. Now, 24 hours later, the pain has almost completely gone,… its still a bit tender but I can live with that for a couple more days. Thanks Amos, you're a star! If anybody out there has any long- or short-term bone/joint/muscle complaints just make an appointment with Amos or his team and they'll fix you right
