Both my mum and dad went into Hazelwell 'Care' Home in Spring 2021. We removed them over the August Bank Holiday 2021. Both had lost significant weight. There was a lack of staff throughout and drinks were irregular or left out of reach. Trying to contact the home was frustrating as the phone just rang out no matter what time of day you called. My father's catheter was not changed during his 5 month stay and as a result he had a severe UTI infection that made him incoherent. During his infection he fell and broke his hip. Hazelwell were using Agency staff and could not appoint a Chef so nutrition

Our uncle Ed was in the Hazelwell for 4 years and died very recently.
I cannot thank the staff enough for their care, support and love for him over the years . There are some very special people there.
We live hours away and all the staff naturally became his extended family. Which gave us and him great comfort.
They embraced his eccentricities and enjoyed his strong willed nature and great sense of humour.
When he was leaving the home for the final time after he died, all the staff lined the corridor, giving him a fabulous "guard of honour" send off, with fitting music for a war hero.

My father was diagnosed with cancer in July 2020. He died in October 2020. We kept him at home as we promised until 3 weeks before he died. He asked to go into the Hazelwell and we were fortunate to have him admitted. We all want our loved ones to die peacefully and with the help of the incredible team at Hazelwell, we achieved that for my dad. Thank you so much for helping us through the most difficult process. You are amazing ❤️

This place nearly killed my dad. He was peg fed and had suffered a massive stroke. They claimed they had all the facilities and knowledge to care for him. I found him lying down flat with empty water glasses surrounding him and still in the same hospital discharge clothes..he was semi conscious and very very poorly. He was rushed to Arrowe Park with pneumonia and severe kidney failure. He never came out from arrowe park and died 4 weeks later.
