We are starting to resume face to face counselling at our office in Inverness. However, most of the counselling will still take place online, using Zoom. If you are experiencing problems in your relationship, you've come to the right place. When a relationship begins to falter our health and happiness can also suffer.
For many of us our first instinct is to try and work through the problems alone and it can be incredibly hard to ask for help, but if you do, you'll be sympathetically listened to and we'll decide together whether we're the right people to help you take things forward. Counselling Highland is a Scottish Charity SC001163 and part of the national network that is Relationships Scotland.

We are affiliated to Relationships Scotland who provide training and development for our counsellors and quality assurance to our organisation.
You may be familiar with online working and meetings or this may be new to you. Online counselling has been proven to be very effective, but it is different to face to face in several ways. This information sheet is to help you get the most out of your sessions. The first thing to decide is which device you are going to use for the meeting, it can be your phone, a tablet, laptop or desk top pc.
Our sexual relationships are personal: How often we have sex, when and what we do is individual to us or our relationship(s). If you enjoy what you do and it's not harming anyone else, then it's your choice.
However sometimes couples and individuals experience sexual difficulties and those might be associated with: wanting or having sex; life events such as ageing, accidents, illness or having children; lack of information or education on our sexual physiology; medical conditions, and for many more reasons.

At Relationships Scotland - Counselling Highland, we welcome not only our own clients and counsellors, but independent counsellors and therapists and their clients, too. We are very happy that so many external counsellors, therapists and supervisors are practising out of our building, while several national organisations also use our building as a local base for their work.
When you first contact us either by phone or email you'll be offered a first consultation which is an information gathering appointment conducted by an intake worker. Counselling will follow at a later date. You will see the same counsellor each time you attend. There is not a fixed number of sessions, most clients will attend between 6-12 sessions.
