The Churchill Tavern is a traditional country pub and restaurant right in the heart of Ramsgate town. With a relaxed atmosphere and even a sea view, why drive out to the sticks? We are a true, traditional country pub with a great range of beers and real ales available on tap. The Churchill Tavern has a well earned reputation for quality live music and events featuring the best of local talent.
Our landlord Stuart takes good care of locals and first time visitors alike. Whether you're popping in for a pint from the best selection of Real Ales in the area or staying for one of our many weekly events, you are safe in the knowledge that there's nowhere else you should rather be. From our ever popular Sunday Lunch through to our homemade bakewell tarts, all the food in our restaurant is fresh, lovingly prepared and really tasty.

Services
Over the years, The Churchill Tavern has transformed from being the site of the Isabella Baths (1816), a boarding house and the Paragon Hotel (1868), the Van Gogh Pub (1961), Steptoe's Pub (1983) and finally to it's current state as The Churchill Tavern (1988). The Churchill Tavern is now known as "the best country pub in town".
The Churchill take great pride in its great British pub food. The menu at The Churchill Tavern is rooted very much in our ideals of being the best of British in taste, quality and value. There might be the odd adopted favourite here and there but the menu is based on traditional meals. We are famous for our traditional roasts.
Our restaurant is generally open to the public throughout the week but we are able to close it off for private hire if there is a large booking. As it is our restaurant, it is already perfectly suited to catering for large sit down meals. Guests can preorder from our full restaurant menu or any available seasonal menus.

Friendly staff & a wide choice of decent traditional English ales, just what's needed
Pool table & Dartboard in dedicated space away from bar, (so no jostled elbows)
Live Music ππΆπΈπΊπΆπ every Sunday evening, & maybe more
Free bar snacks yesterday, (Sunday PM before the band started)
Would recommend, (& do so) πππ
I would have given it 5β but no hot food since lockdown started last year
However, have been told that a new chef & new menu arrive in early Jan' 2022 π¨βπ³

The wife and I are in the process of buying a spot in Ramsgate so very chuffed to find this gem of a pub. Very nice inside. Local artists on the wall and pleasant atmosphere. Sun streaming through the big corner room windows probably didn't hurt. White bait portion size immense but the actual fishies probably a tad too big (freaked the Mrs out a bit). Sunday lamb roast bang on. Lots of tasty veg. Crucially not overcooked. Lamb yum with good gravy portion. Defos go back.
