The home-cured, hand-carved meat at B and K is a tribute to salt beef sandwiches done simply and perfectly, and that ethos fully extends to every other sandwich on our mouth-watering menu! Founder Bambos Georgiou started life in the salt beef trade in 1950s, working in the West End's Windmill Street.
His reputation soared when he was approached by the owner of Selfridges to open a salt beef bar in their Food Hall. After establishing the Brass Rail, Bambos went on to open B&K Salt Beef Bar in Edgware. This is where the rest of the family quickly learned the Salt Beef trade and decades later his sons and grandsons carry on his legacy in both the Edgware and Hatch End restaurants.

Absolutely amazing!
Every single thing I tried from this place is just astounding. Salt beef sandwich out of this world, latkes are phenomenal and the schnitzel tastes like the one your grandma used to make at home! The staff is very friendly since the second you walk in, makes it feel as cozy as home. Highly recommended!

Proper, old school salt beef on rye.
We arrived a few minutes before they opened, but were seated without fuss. Service was very friendly, and the food was absolutely first class. Excellent salt beef on proper rye bread with mustard and pickles, and delicious latkes. I only wish there were more places like this.

Hubby had egg and onion, chicken livers, chopped herring and sweet and sour and New green gurkins, followed by salt beef, potatoes latkes with lemon tea ... he loved the salt beef but said the rest could have done with a bit more seasoning and was a bit tasteless. I had the best salad I've had in years and omelette, I could have eaten it twice 😁

I've been looking for a traditional kosher restaurant ever since Blooms closed down.
The place is quite small but really popular and I can see why.....the salt beef was to die for, and a proper portion too.
However, my 3 starters, yes 3, were a bit on the bland side which was a real shame.
The egg and onions, chopped herring and especially the chopped liver all tasted very little of there ingredients but that won't stop me going there again

The best salt beef in town... I was recommended this restaurant by friends and I was not disappointed. The moment I walked in, I was so pleasantly surprised. The guy working there was so friendly, kind sweet, helpful and explained everything to me with patience. I would totally recommend this place to everyone that fancies salt beef as well as the other products they offer. It is a great little place and the quality of the products is outstanding and way above the rest.

This is an unpretentious little jewish diner-type restaurant in an even less unpretentious neighborhood in the North of London. It is located in Edgeware, which I frequent a few times a year since I have a friend who lives there. However it was not until I googled: "best salt beef in London" that I knew that there is a hidden gem to be found here. To me, salt beef is the UK variant of pastrami minus the peppercorns on the outside. I love both but I've had bad versions of both. So when I learned that this is the best salt beef in London, I got excited.
I came and found a little shop

Best salt beef sandwich that I can find! Got hooked on them when I lived within walking distance. I've tried to find a replacement closer to where I live now but there's no comparison. Delicious salt beef piled high on fresh light rye with a just a hint of mustard. If you don't like it fatty you can always ask for it lean and they'll try to cut out most of the fat. Friendly staff! Even the guy making the sandwiches (the owner?) will wave and thank you on your way out. I wish I lived closer because I would seriously go there at least once a week.

They do the best Salt beef and Latkes around.
Their latkes are huge. The Salt beef is usually quite lean, just the way I like it. I hate it when you have it with loads of fat. They always give you more than enough. I could feed 3 people with the portion for one sandwich.
Its always full of older couples especially on a Saturday afternoon.
They do a great coleslaw too.
If you can't eat in, get it to take away.

Not much to look at from the outside but don't let that put you off! The portions are huge so make sure you only go when you're ravenous!
Seriously, the salt beef is to die for and is very reasonably priced. It's only got a small seating area for about 20 people but you can also get take away. The staff are very friendly and it has a great atmosphere.
Parking can be a little difficult as there are only a few bays on Whitchurch Lane and it's near to the traffic lights at a major junction in Edgware so you may have to park a distance away but the food it worth it! I would
