After driving 5 hours to visit family, we were recommended to call here for Faggots. We phoned ahead to make sure they had enough and promptly set off to collect them. Once inside, we were not only welcomed by… friendly knowledgeable staff, but loved the selection of goods available in store. Unable to pass up the delicious cakes, we ordered a selection whilst trying olives from the well stocked deli counter. All of the food was sublime. Wish we lived closer!

When it comes to a butchers, for me quality almost always outweighs quantity. I bought two centre cut fillet steaks here and these were not huge, but I still remember the texture and flavour it was so good.
The store made Pork Breakfast, Italian and Venison sausages are to die for as well. Not cheap, but god they are so very, very good.
Their pastries are almost as good but here is the only area I can lay any criticism of this butchers. The hand raised pork pies are stunning in the texture and flavour of the meat and the pastry, but they are absent any jelly...which is a disappointment. Everything

My beef with this place (get it? beef?), is many. Oh where to start. I hate this shop. It makes me grumpy and gives me the dreads. Apart from having to take out a remortgage to buy anything, while asking if they sold organic once over the phone, the not-so gentle-man shrieked "JESUS CHRIST" down the phone and hung up. Well it was a Saturday. And I'm sure the deli female (who is always a female weirdly, while its the team of men who man the meat) is trained to be as miserable as possible. The quality of food is beyond amazing but the staff ruin it with their gigantic Michelin star chef egos.

Rump steaks and beef fillet chateaubriand arrived frozen, not fresh, and the order was incomplete. When I complained I was told it was not their fault. I asked for the rest of the order to be sent and they have ignored my emails ever since. Not a great incentive for a first time customer to buy again! Very Very Very disappointed. Thanks for nothing, Jack and Charlie Cook! Hope Lizabeth and Stephen are proud.

We had a hog roast for our wedding reception last weekend and everyone remarked on how lovely it was. The food was ready at the agreed time and we were served by Bradley and Lucy who were lovely they were very professional and made conversation with all our guests. We would highly recommend Walter Rose & Son .

Phoned ahead to make an order for large family gathering. Everything was ready and waiting on my arrival. Service was great and the food outstanding.
We ordered a whole honey-roasted cooked ham, it was honestly the best ham I have ever tasted and this was echoed by many food lovers in the family.
Burgers and sausages we ordered were also extremely popular.
