Our staff consists of a very well trained, experienced and cohesive team. Cavendish has very low staff turnover, thus limiting the use of agency staff which results in a familiar face to our residents and staff that are able to forge a strong and caring relationship with our residents.

It's natural to want to live in your own home for as long as possible. No one wants 'to be put in a care home'. However, for someone who is living with dementia, the strive for continued independence can actually lead to isolation, loneliness and confusion as their old familiar home just doesn't make sense anymore.
Looking after a loved one with dementia can be very tiring, both physically and mentally. Even if you're not actually living with them and they're receiving in home support, you still feel responsible and that you need to be available to help at a moments notice. In these circumstances it can be really difficult to take a break even though you might desperately need a holiday, time with the rest of your family, or just time to unwind.
Considering moving into a care home is a daunting step which most elderly people will resist as long as they can. They fear losing their independence, identity, freedom and dignity. The thing is, the comment we get most often once someone has actually moved in is "I wish we'd done it much sooner". That's because life in a good care home is actually great fun.
If you're looking for end of life care for your loved one we'd like to offer you our deepest sympathy. We know you're going through a heart wrenching time and having to find a suitable care home only adds to an already heavy burden, both emotionally and practically. However, choosing the right care home is crucial to the experience you and your loved one have at this critical time, especially if they have dementia.
Everyone's needs are different so your care requirements will be assessed specifically for you as an individual as will your own personal preferences. In this way we'll be able to provide everything you need and want in your life at Cavendish. Because of this we are unable to tell you exactly how much your care will cost until we have met you and had time to fully assess your requirements.
