In 2005, I was delighted to be invited to Clarence House for a meeting that ended with me securing the commission to make the wedding cake of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and Mrs Camilla Parker Bowles, as well as 2,500 slices given to the guests inside commemorative tins marking this very special day in our history.

Our whole experience from start to finish was amazing with Dawn. After an initial bad experience with another cake maker, Dawn reassured us and was the most professional and perfect cake maker we could ask for… for our wedding. She pays a lot of attention to detail and contacted my florist behind the scenes to match the flowers to the flowers on the cake. Nothing is too much trouble and the cake was such an amazing surprise on the day. So beautiful and exceeded any expectations we had. The sponge is delicious amazing flavours and texture. I really can’t recommend Dawn enough I&rsquo

I have just had my first tuition with Dawn, and WOW,, Dawn made me feel completely at ease, and answered every question I had, even the daft ones 🥴, I feel I learned lots and lots and my confidence is sky high, , if you want to learn Anything about cakes or sugarcraft Dawn is absolutely amazing, can't wait for my next lesson 😊

Visited Sophisticake for the first time on 3 July 2014 with a friend. Beautiful cakes on display. Lovely chat with Dawn, who then asked if we would test a couple of cupcakes .. we tried rhubarb and custard, which she had made for a wedding where the request had been for 'something different' - they tasted fabulous. We also tried strawberry and then sticky toffee - also fabulous! THEN we tried her family recipe fruitcake, which is matured for six months - so moist and fruity. We had intended to have afternoon tea at the Petwood, but didn't need to after that!
