Services
Client care and education is our main focus. Our teachers look beyond Pilates, and are trained in safe spine techniques along with the Katy Bowman method of 'Restorative Exercise'. Over the last ten years I have made it my mission to become an expert in getting to the root cause of my clients joint pain and provide affective solutions to put clients back in control of their bodies.
You no-longer have to book a Private Session with one of our teachers* to be able to attend our classes! We have dedicated our NEW Tuesday and Wednesday Night IN-PERSON small classes to anyone wishing to try out Pilates! You will be able to join our Beginners/Backcare classes IMMEDIATELY after your session if you want!
At Leith Pilates we have a special formula of small, friendly classes where the teacher knows your name and the focus is on healing and strengthening. We run specific back care classes to protect you as you move, as well as advanced classes to push yourself. We also believe in quality over quantity, and even in this digital age we only offer limited spaces, to keep the classes small so the teacher can see you and offer you corrections.
I came to Leith Pilates having done a couple of years of classes with a different Edinburgh company. I enjoyed those classes and I find that Pilates has helped me with an old back injury and to help me with playing capoeira and doing other exercise, but I was looking for something more. With the team here at Leith Pilates, I feel that I have learned so much about my body, my personal challenges with alignment and my areas to work on.
Can I cancel my membership, Class or Workshop and get a refund out with the cancellation time frame? I subscribed on the 30th of the month but the month I'm now booking for has 31 days and a class I want is on the 31st. Why can't I book the 31st? I have a Monday class but this month only has 4 Mondays and the deal offers 5 classes for 4. Can I carry that 5th class over to the next month?

Just a note to say that, thanks to your exercises, I now have what I will call a greater “muscular resilience “ when doing physical jobs.
I have recently renewed a work surface in our utility room, requiring lifting, drilling, screwing and generally mauling about on the floor on hands and knees etc. and have survived in a much better shape than usual - more strength in arms and legs when doing the job and able to recover quicker afterwards with fewer aches and pains than usual the next day.
With this added confidence ( a day or two later, I should add) I similarly set to to demolish an overgrown

I'm 41 and never thought I'd be into Pilates. Prior to meeting Andy, I had a number of long-term injuries from climbing and various misadventures, and having seen various physiotherapists, chiropractors and osteopaths, had pretty much reached the point of accepting my various aches and pains. My partner was already a regular attendee at Leith Pilates, but my perception and previous experience was that Pilates would be somewhere on the same spectrum as Yoga - all full of chakras and other pseudo-spiritual nonesense.
I couldn't have been more wrong. Andy is an absolute gold-mine of knowledge and

Just had my induction session and after years of back pain and visiting doctors, physios and 'specialists', I have finally been given an explanation of my issues and ways to remedy them. There was no hard sell to continue with classes. The team at Leith Pilates really know their stuff. The induction and classes are excellent value for money. The studio is lovely. Well laid-out, bright and welcoming. They have been very accommodating already with my schedule. I was given some 'homework' to do and already, after a week, I feel a difference. Can't wait to start the real hard work at class!

My excellent osteopath Clotilde Chereau recommended that I do Pilates to help with lower back pain but not just any classes: she told me that I should go and see Andy. I had done Pilates before and hadn't been… particularly convinced but I now I don't know what I'd do if Andy decided to do something else with his life :-) From day 1 I learnt to use muscles I didn't know existed and started to move differently. Andy knows *a lot* about bodies and he pays a lot of attention to what you do in class, and that is very important. I've done yoga/pilates before in classes of 20-30 people. Andy's

I have been attending classes at Leith Pilates for about six months and they are fantastic. Andy gets to know everyone individually and is able to tailor exercises so that you get the best out of each session. He offers alternative exercises depending on problem areas or tightness for each individual. The studio is lovely and the small class sizes mean that you get to know other people so it is really friendly and welcoming. My other half had back problems prior to us starting pilates and he has seen a huge improvement since attending Andy's classes. Leith Pilates is competitively priced compared

Leith Pilates is a great place to follow Pilates. Andy is an excellent teacher with great knowledge on pilates, not only offering enjoyable excercise but also helping people with different kind of injuries to recover.
I followed Leith Pilates classes after an injury in my back and the recommendation of the physiotherapist. Andy managed to help me and teach me the right movement of our body and I managed to completely recover from my injury and get out of pain. The classes are not bigger than 10 people and Andy pays attention on each person individually taking care of the specific problem that

I've been attending Pilates classes at Leith Pilates since early spring 2014 - I highly recommend them. Andy is professional in every way and gives utmost importance to each individuals ability and learning. Classes are small - never more than 10 - 12 people. It's a studio to grow with - providing a community feeling and a real passion and understanding of Pilates. Helpful in every way, both Andy and Ruth work flexibly and aim to accommodate - I'm the worst culprit, often needing to reschedule make up classes, due to work pressures. A friend referred me and I've gone on to refer two others - it

This location has recently separated and been renamed Leith Pilates. I have only joined since the change so cannot compare but I am really enjoying my classes so far. The location is lovely and the studio is calming and also welcoming, due, in part to the lovely people and in part, to the beautiful home made cushions. It is early days for me in attending classes but I am already starting to feel a difference and would recommend them to anyone who was interested - I am trying to get my husband to join the next cycle already!

The Pilates Attic is a real gem of a place. The classes have a relaxed atmosphere and their small size means that everyone gets one to one feedback on how their progressing week by week. The instructor, Andy, is an excellent teacher and has a genuine interest in helping others to feel the benefit of Pilates.
