Since my grandfather founded the school in 1966, we've helped thousands of students from around the world make real progress with their English. Today I run the school with my father, Italo, Kathryn, our Principal, and an expert team of staff and teachers. Together, we have years of experience in helping students get the most from their courses.
As a team, we work together to make sure that we offer quality education and full support to our students here in Bournemouth. Southbourne School of English is a family-run business founded in 1966. It occupies purpose-built premises situated in the middle of a typical English suburb in the seaside town of Bournemouth with only a ten-minute walk to the sea.
Every student's level of English is different, so we take great care to match your course with your language ability and needs. Your place at the school will be confirmed once we have received the above mentioned payment. All fees must be paid at least 4 weeks before the start of the course. Please read our Terms and Conditions carefully and confirm you have understood them before you book and pay for your course.
We are committed to safeguarding. Our students' safety is our first priority, so all staff need to have/undergo an enhanced DBS check. We'll need two references - and any gaps in CVs will need to be followed up. Please quote the reference for the job you are applying for in all correspondence. You can download the Employment Application Form and email it to us at the address on the form.
I believe that what makes an experience unforgettable is that special moment when you realise that a new place feels like home, no matter how far you really are from it. This is simply what I have felt right here; like I'm in a large family, with a multicultural atmosphere. A place that is worth a piece of your heart.

What a long time when i have been in southbourn school of english it was good memories and good times maybe it's the best 11 weeks in my life when i was there and i got to meet good friends when i saw all the pictures i just want to cry but i can't. i'm always dreaming coming back to southbourne maybe this year i will back maybe not

It's been a whale of time. The school has given all the opporunities for effective studying.The teachers and the staff have been very friendly, polite. During morning and afternoon classes we have mastered our language skills as well as we've broadened our mind. The atmosphere in the school has contributed to studying, interacting with other students( who have actually been very friedly, easy going and good-humoured) The beach( where we have spent enough time , admiring the view) facilitated our cross-cultural communication. My host family's been also worthy! Now there is a burning desire to come
