Since 1968, Gearbulk has been setting standards for reliable, cost-effective and innovative ocean transport. We have a proud history associated with the transportation of cargoes that require special handling and stowage such as pulp, aluminium, orange juice or granite, including conventional bulk.
The decks of our open hatch ships - the world's largest fleet - are perfectly suited for project cargo. Our box-shaped holds with wide hatch openings offer efficient stowage and safe transport. Our onboard gantry and jib cranes speed up loading and discharge. Each year our ships make thousands of port calls in more than 70 countries on five continents.

Services
Gearbulk remains proactive in all it does to safeguard a sustainable future for all of our stakeholders. We have undertaken a significant review of our organisation to ensure that we are working as efficiently and safely as possible, whilst at the same time looking after the environment that we operate within.
Gearbulk operates the world's largest fleet of open hatch gantry crane and jib crane vessels with box-shaped holds to maximise stowage and minimise cargo handling. Our fleet also includes ships designed for conventional dry bulk, liquids needing high heat or sub-zero temperatures and project cargo needing plenty of space.
Technical management, crewing, safety, environmental, quality assurance, purchasing, vessel insurance, fleet accounting and other responsibilities, all focusing on ensuring that the ships perform to a standard which meets our customers' and our internal expectations. Gearbulk's Ship management also provides project design, new building drawing approbation and new build site supervision.
Nothing describes better what Gearbulk does well than a photo or video showing our ships come alive under the watchful eyes of our crew. Our case studies tell some of the more unique stories about our business successes and about giving back. The latest news keeps you up to date with what's happening at Gearbulk.
Gearbulk employs approximately 200 people ashore and 1650 at sea. We are committed to providing reliable, cost-effective and innovative services to our customers. We operate a fleet of about 90 vessels. From time to time we have the need to recruit new colleagues to help us achieve our business objectives.
