We specialise in advising on the legal issues of buying and selling property in France and on French inheritance issues. We also advise clients on the transfer of French property to an ex-spouse following a divorce. We assist not only individuals and/or families but also firms of solicitors who need guidance in matters with a French property element such as succession matters.

We provide independent legal advice and most of our work comes to us from personal recommendation from previous clients, agents or lawyers. Annie Digby is the principal of the business. She is a French national who has many years' experience in providing specialist advice to clients with French property related issues, previously as a solicitor and currently as an independent legal adviser/consultant.
Services
The French Notaire's duty is to the French State; he has an obligation to ensure that the transaction proceeds in accordance with French law. He is French and the seller is probably French and it is easy to imagine some form of bias. We offer independent legal advice and look after your interests, not the seller's, the Notaire's or the agent's.
The "Compromis de Vente" is the initial contract between the seller and the purchaser. It forms the basis of the agreement which will eventually be formalised in the "Acte de Vente" drafted by the Notaire. It is therefore important to consider its terms very carefully. Great care must be taken before signing it and in any event, legal advice must be sought before doing so.
