Services
R & L Preservation offer a large range of services which range from rising damp and waterproofing treatments to specialised timber treatments and surveys. A French drain is required when the outside ground levels are higher than the internal floor levels.

An effective way to remedy this is to dig a recommend depth and width channel around the perimeter of the house and back fill it with shingle, this allowing water to drain below the damp proof course and prevent it from bridging the existing damp proof course. If the outside render is in contact with the ground it allows ground water salts to be drawn up above the existing damp proof course i.e.
Rising Damp is where ground water which carries ground water salts by capillary action rises up through the building structure. Rising damp can be successfully treated by injecting a silicon cream damp proof course in accordance to British Standard BS6576:2005 and carrying out specialist re-plastering to prevent existing salts from spoiling plaster and decorative finishes.
Our qualified surveyor will asses if the type of beetle is still alive and active and what type of treatment is required. Not all beetles require treatments and some beetles can cause structural damage which may require investigating further. Our treatments are usually a spray/brush applied, low odour preservative with a re-entry time of 1 hour.
