Services
Whitewood Recording Studio 1 is a two-room facility situated in Liverpool's newly established independent district. We are on the 5th Floor of Elevator Studios, a building buzzing with some of Liverpool's finest creative forces in music, video and design. The Grade II listed warehouse has a unique atmosphere and blends modern chique with the distant voices of the cotton, spices and coffee that were stored here years ago.
Our Studio is based around a Pro tools HDX system (44 analogue inputs, 46 outputs on AVID I/O interfaces as well as LAVRY Conversion, a Stereo Lavry DA10 driving our monitoring) with a Digidesign C 24 desk giving you hands on access to the mix process.

A wide variety of different microphones (dynamic, valve and solid state condenser as well as some fine ribbon microphones) and analogue processing is used to capture all the sounds emanating from the Live room.Brick walls, Laminate flooring and baffles provide a range of acoustic scenarios. Bass traps and broadband diffusers give our rooms a nice open sound.
If there any extra pieces of gear you require please speak to us before the session and we will do our best to arrange it as we have many contacts who can provide all sorts of exciting equipment. Some of these instruments are on semi permanent loan from our friends if you would like them for you session then please get in contact before the session to make sure you avoid disapointment.
Please think about booking your session 4-6 weeks in advance, especially for larger sessions. Feel free to inquire about more short term sessions though there is usually little windows to fit you in depending on how flexible you are. A day usually is 9h and last from 10am - 7pm but can be arranged to fit in better with your schedule where necessary.
Rob grew up in Germany to english parents and is often referred to by the locals as "the German". He has a degree in sound technology but more important he cares about recording music more than anything else and has a deep and thorough understanding of the technical as well of the creative aspects of the recording process.
