Cast and wrought iron bed frames were introduced at the end of the 19th century, in the Victorian age. Vintage iron bed frames were handmade from pouring the iron and polishing detailed castings to the last finishing touches.

I've put a video because I found it hard to find a good real-life picture of the OBC Tulsk bed (superking) in the ivory colour. Took a slight risk in ordering it as I was unsure if it'd be too cream or shiny - so glad that it isn't. The paint job was the first thing that struck me - the paint looks luscious in its application, and you can see from the video it's near-white. We have another cast-iron/brass bed which has served us well for 20+ years, but this bed feels even sturdier, if that's even possible. Partly because the slatted frame is its own thing and it doesn't use the bed ends for its

I was a little skeptical about the quality of the bed initially as the price was fairly low in comparison to many similar beds on the market but their website won me over as well as all the positive reviews online. The bed is fantastic; super quality and really simple to put together unlike lots of cheaper priced beds that seem to have a million parts. I'd really recommend OBC and would 100% buy again.

We live in France and recently ordered two iron beds from the Original Bed Company, one of them custom painted. Every contact with the company was excellent, with prompt and clear responses to our questions. The company met all of their commitments and the beds arrived as promised. Properly packed and protected, both beds are superbly engineered. They were straightforward to put together with easy to follow instructions. There was even a small bottle of touch in paint for the custom painted bed. We couldn't be happier. Absolute recommendation.

Fantastic beds, great mattresses, superb service and an incredible price! The turnaround time was very quick! I got two diwan beds and a mattress from them back in June - got the second mattress from another supplier who failed to deliver after three months! Was really happy with the mattress from these guys and they were able to get the second mattress delivered in five days! Definitely recommend them!!

Bought my second OBC bed as I am moving out to my own house! Loved my first bed and knew that I would always go for an OBC bed once I got my own place!
I placed my order on their website and received my confirmation receipt. I haven’t moved in to my new house yet and thought I would get some kind of tracking information or a heads up on delivery via email so I could be at my new house on that day, however when I went to my house yesterday to pick up post I have three large parcels outside in the side entrance which had been there for over a week.. I haven’t even put the bed up yet but I hope

I purchased the Glenholm double bed and Juno cotton mattress. Due to COVID, I wasn't able to go into the store so I had only seen the items online and read the descriptions and reviews. They arrived yesterday and I've just had my first night sleep.
I'm really pleased with the purchase. The bed looks great. The mattress is comfortable. They were able to deliver to Northern Ireland for an affordable price which not everyone does because of Brexit. There was a long lead time but that was stated upfront on their website (it took 11 weeks, website said 8-10 weeks).

Absolutely love this bed. Beautifully made, excellent quality, sturdy and easy to assemble. I rang the company to order, and was dealt with by a very knowledgeable, helpful and polite lady. Delivery was prompt with a 2 hour slot and the driver rang 20 minutes before arriving. Altogether a delightful experience, no nonsense, reliable and supplying a fantastic product. I have no hesitation in recommending The Original Bed Co and will certainly order from them again.

Great customer service, amended my order with absolutely no issues, organised delivery the week before Xmas with no issues either.
Bed arrived well packaged and on time, and I was able to assemble the king sized frame single handed with some creative balancing and cushion placement
