Prior to beginning the tool design and manufacture, the component design must be optimised. Not only does this process ensure it is possible to manufacture the part, but it also reduces certain inefficiencies such as long cycle times, material waste and low yield rates - all influencing the part cost.
The beauty of injection moulding is the variation that's possible - and the choice of thermoplastic materials available. But design freedom can come at a cost. Failures arising from incorrect material selection are not uncommon in the plastics sector, especially where designers have a complex specification to meet and little support from an experienced partner.
High quality injection mould tools are the foundation block for successful injection moulded components. Hymid provides an end-to-end tooling service - from design through to production. Many years of experience combined with a formal review process and specialist software has enabled us to streamline the tool design, review and approval process - vastly reducing risk.

In this scenario, Hymid will undertake a structured Process Optimisation and Validation exercise which will vastly reduce concerns regarding the capability of the tooling to achieve fine tolerances within a production environment.
