I would highly recommend Tia’s as it is a great family run business and they went over and above to accommodate my party of 25. Nothing was a problem and they put 100% effort into making sure my mams dietary… request was perfect for her needs.
Nicola, our host, could not do enough to make sure my son had an amazing 18th birthday celebration.
We all came away happy and full. Definitely go and visit this lovely restaurant if you haven’t already. You won’t be disappointed.

What a surprising find in Durham. Great mexican food with a separate and extensive Vegan menu. They also have pizzas amongst a large menu.
The fried onion starter shaped like a rose was incredible. Four of us shared this and we were all really full after it. Mains of enchiladas and chimichangas were good. Excellent home made chips too.
Very friendly service and a nice sensitivity to alternative diets and allergies. Would recommend to any one in Durham.

I was pretty surprised by Tia's, usually in England we just can't do Mexican food or it's some crappy chain where everything taste the same. We visited on a Saturday evening and had 20 minute wait for food, but I'm glad we waited. You get nachos and dip whilst you read the menu. The choice on the menu was pretty vast, even things for those not keen on Mexican food. We got the skins to start which were ok not bad not amazing. The mains were good though the mexican platter helped with the decision of enchilada or the chimichanga - you get a mini one of each and they were both

I was admittedly hesitant about Tia's, not quite sure what sort of Mexican I would find in Durham. I was very pleasantly surprised.
Tried the chili beef enchilada and chicken sweetcorn chimichanga. Got both with rice (though you could get fries instead). Flavors were very good, chimichanga was crispy, but not oily. Good amount of cheese and sauce on enchilada. The rice on the side was fluffy and flavorful (though we put a good amount of hot sauce on it all).
Split a pitcher of strawberry margarita (which was very good) for 14 quid, which was a great deal as we got about eight glasses out

I was very impressed by Tia's! Excellent, friendly service, very tasty food and strong margaritas. The prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food.
I have eaten quite a bit of Tex-Mex in my life, and I have to say I was very surprised to find food this good in Durham. The rice was perfectly flavourful and although everything else required a good splash of hot sauce, it was all very yummy.
