In 2001, Heather completed her formal training under the UK Government City & Guilds programme at Stranraer, Scotland. On completion of her course, Heather returned to Australia and ran an extraordinarily successful dog grooming business with the name Heather's Dog Grooming for 14 years in Canberra, the federal capital of Australia.

At Heathers Dog Grooming, dog grooming takes place in a new, professional salon with air-conditioning and quality grooming products and specialist equipment. All of which assists in the comfort of your pet. Rest assured, with Heather's many years of experience, your dog will be handled and groomed with care and attention in a stress-free environment and to the highest standard.
All short and long-haired dogs (all breeds) up to 15 kgs are most welcome. Unfortunately we don't groom large dogs. Your dog will be handled and groomed to a high standard with care and attention in a positive, safe and stress-free environment. Responding to your requirements, Heather will deliver a simple and practical wash, dry and trim all the way through to a full groom.
The team at Heathers Dog Grooming has tidied dogs of all sizes and breeds. We completely understand that your dog is unique, and we can tailor our grooming services to suit your furry little friend. We take great pride in offering specialist treatments and care, choose us for quality clipping, washing and trimming for most breeds of dog.
Yes, we are familiar with most of the breed standards and are very experienced with the more popular breeds. Many clients do not groom to the breed standard because of the level of maintenance required. If you would like to get your dog groomed to the breed standard, it is helpful to review with the groomer the home maintenance involved between salon visits.

Our first time going with Heather for having our dog Kal groomed and she was amazing to deal with from start to finish, friendly, professional, kind and polite. Heather, I just want to say a huge thank you! You groomed my two Scottish terriers today and they are STUNNING! I have tried MANY groomers during the years we have had our Scottie’s and unfortunately until today we have never been happy with the results, as many groomers don’t know how to cut them correctly. I would recommend you highly! Your knowledge of dogs is remarkable as you picked up right away that one of our Scottie’s has had trouble with her knee. You gave such useful advice thank you. For everyone to know my dog is still affected to this day even with a new groomer who has tried really hard to build up his confidence. Heather treated my dog so badly when I was there I hate to think what she does when your not there. My daughter was a witness to all this it affects both of us even to this day. She is rude to her customers and one I knew she had her in tears they way she spoke to her.

Have recently used this service and can assure anyone that Heather's is fantastic. Ignore the negative reviews as sometimes people who see a successful independent lady have the need to bring them down. Heather calls a spade a spade and has genuine love for dogs including the yappy awkward ones like my Daisy!

Heather completed a full groom on both my cavalier spaniels and done a wonderful job, they both look wonderful. Heather was especially was very kind to Lucy who took very unwell while in her care and she looked after her and offered me very good advise,when I picked her up. This was my first visit with heather and I definitely will be going back again and again. Thanks so much xx
