Burley Villa is currently offering group, private and Pony Club lessons for our regular riders and Pony Club members riders only. We are not open for beginner riding, pony trails or children's lessons or one off riding experiences. We offer English or Western saddle Horse Riding Lessons for all standards in our Indoor or Outdoor Arenas throughout the year.
Services
Burley Villa welcomes both riders and non-riders and offers Riding Lessons in the Indoor Arena or Menege. A great way to get 'hands on' with our ponies on this one hour pony experience. You'll learn how to brush off and groom your pony and how to put on his saddle and bridle before heading off to the arena for a beginner lesson or a ride round our fields and woods on a 'Pony Trail'.
Burley-Villa is a British Pony Club Centre. This means we offer all The Pony Club activities, badges, rallies, camps and riding tests which are usually available to children who own their own ponies. We start with an assessment lesson, unless you are a regular rider with us already. This is for 30 minutes and will cost 35.
Burley Villa has its own B&B, Bashley House, on the southern edge of the New Forest, offering a quiet base for relaxing breaks in the New Forest National Park. The Beech and Maple rooms are en-suite, with continental breakfast served in the room. Guest bedrooms are on the ground floor and have televisions and tea and coffee facilities as we do not offer a guest lounge.
Horses are mucked out, hayed and fed by us (Grass Nuts only, you supply any other feeds/ supplements). All Horses will have a daily turn out, hopefully most will be able to live out at night during Summer months and in during the day. Gold and Silver livery includes a shavings bed and up to 2 bales of shavings per week at our discretion.

I've had two lessons with Tammy so far, one Western and one English. I've had such a blast each time. Tammy is a kind and enthusiastic teacher who eases my anxieties and gently corrects my riding. She diffuses… any tension I'm carrying with a chat and has had me laughing my worries away both times. I really felt like I made good progress in my lesson and can't wait to go again!
All the staff are polite and friendly, always with a cheery hello and a wave.
The horses are all beautiful and experienced teachers themselves who make a rider feel safe to reach their potential.
Thank you so much

A really lovely riding school, with fantastic access to riding out! Beautiful horses and great facilities, plus some good food too :) Have so enjoyed my time there learning western riding, and it was such a privilege to ride Tammy’s beautifully schooled world champ horse! I also have fond memories of Spot looking after me and teaching me the ropes ❤️

I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Katie who took care of us today! We went on a 90 min ride through a beautiful forest. As beginners that been on a horse only as a children , we felt very safe and enjoyed a ride on lovely horses named Ollie, Cee Cee and Chonelle (possible wrong spelling) they were very calm and listened to us. Ollie was really funny because he kept trying to eat leaves on his way, but it was easy to control him. Definitely would recommend! Xx with love Agata, Kay and Polski .

We were staying nearby on holiday and booked a half hour lead rein ride for our daughter. It was lovely, staff were very welcoming and cheerful, ponies were obviously well cared for and all safety equipment was provided (including boots!). Our daughter loved the trail, there were lots of fairy doors along the way which she enjoyed spotting. Would definitely recommend!

I personally would not recommend this company. My boyfriend booked 2 hours riding for my bday (pre-paid voucher).
And the day of the event it was raining a lot and I was quite sick already so we decided to try to re-book it. However, we called and someone quite careless basically told us that it did not matter and I have to go even if I was very sick.
I decided to do not go, as I had a very bad cold and I was not going to ride under the rain for 2 hours.
Very very disappointing

Yeeehar! Do you want to be a cowboy? Well fear not, Burley Villa will have you riding into the sunset before you know it.
I did this with my girlfriend after her mate inconsiderately got pregnant leaving a spare space to fill. Truth be told I didn't really expect to enjoy it but I was pleasantly surprised.
I was paired with Coyote the horse, who is the rebel of the outfit. It was a match made in heaven. Coyote was good, he did what he was told, as long as he was told with conviction.
We trotted around the forest for a couple of hours and then returned to the centre where we were given a BBQ
