Witham Bowls Club
Due to technical difficulties with our website 'Contact Us' form, which some members are still using, we are withdrawing this as a method of booking rinks for competitions (internal and external), club nights and ALL 'informal' roll-ups with immediate effect. AND they should also be entered on to the Rink Booking Sheet located on the outside notice board at the club house.

Ideally 24 hours notice would be appreciated. ALL requests for Club Night and Club Drive bookings MUST be sent to the following [same] email address: withambc@gmail.com. Please provide as much notice as possible with these requests as it allows us to plan the rinks for club night in advance and reduce delays on the night.

THE PICTURES Go to the Photo Gallery (under more.) It was good to see more people than last year supporting our members in their "Quest for Glory". It was a shame that more people weren't supporting our members in their "Quest for Glory". B Team for winning the 2016 Central Midweek Bowling League, Division 4 and gaining promotion.
WITHAM BOWLS CLUB maintains a membership comprising approximately 40 ladies and 75 gents who enjoy the facilities of our Club featuring a first class outdoor green, with a well appointed Clubhouse and changing rooms. Our Club encourages new members whether experienced bowlers or not. We do, however, expect that members new to the game should undergo a beginners induction and coaching course which is provided by our qualified coaches.
The Club, therefore, is one of the earliest to be founded after the formation of the English Bowling Association formed by W. G. Grace in 1903. The first game of bowls in Witham was probably played at the Witham Cricket Club when the more senior members of that club grew tired of chasing a hard red ball around the wide expanse of the Cricket ground in Maldon Road.

Even at the end of an extremely hot and dry summer, the green at Witham Bowls Club was in excellent condition. There's also a lovely large clubhouse there. The only downside is that parking could be a bit of an issue: there's no car park but some parking is available on the driveway down to the club.
