Our farms are located about 4 miles from the farm shop at High Weetslade and High Barns. They are very typical mixed farms for Northumberland with arable, beef and sheep - we are also one of the few pig producers in the area. Victoria's family have farmed in this area for generations - that's years of experience going into producing the very best livestock for the farm shop.
Our cattle (mainly Limousin and Charolais with some Aberdeen Angus) and sheep breeds (North Country Mule Ewes with Texel or Beltex rams) are chosen to suit the local conditions as well as to produce top quality carcasses for the butchery. Our arable crops extend to around 500 acres - that's plenty of cereals to help feed the cattle and sheep over the winter.

Services
Sometimes shopping with the kids can be a bit of a chore so we have tried to make things a bit simpler by providing a safe play area where they can let off some steam. Ride on tractors, a giant sandpit, giant Lego blocks and other games will keep them busy.
They can also visit some of our animals - pigs with their own special viewing window, the pygmy goats on their climbing frames, chickens in the coop and cows and sheep in the paddock during the summer.Across the car park there are swings, climbing frame and a slide as well as the living willow tunnels.

We have always tried to make things as easy as possible for our customers with limited mobility. There are two marked disabled parking spaces just beside the entrance to the shop with level floors to all areas of the shop and coffee shop. All of the toilet facilities are fully accessible and double doors allow easy access for wheelchairs.
This is a list of the most popular items asked for by customers on their orders. It's by no means everything we have available in the farm shop - if there is any other product you need, just ask the person taking your order and they can advise on availability, price, sizes etc.
Our Telephone Order Line is open Monday to Saturday from 09:30 to 3:30 or you can send an order via e-mail to ianbyatt@btinternet.com or through the contact section of the website. To help our ordering team it would be great if you could prepare a list in advance before you call - it just helps speed the process up.

Lovely little farm shop and coffee shop, can't sit down inside you can outside as there are some lovely comfortable wooden seats dotted about. There is a children's fun park, sand for a soft landing and a few animals too, goats, chickens etc. Lovely place, the staff are really friendly and helpful too.

A brilliant find just off the A1. Forget the classic, over-crowded and over-priced services. Head a mile in and go to Moorehouse Farm Shop. Excellent facilities for adults, kids and dogs. Picnic benches and sensibly priced good quality food to go and classic farm shop staples. Highly recommend this place.

I'm giving this place 5 stars even though we didn't experience the shop. We stopped to get some ice - cream for my 2yr old Granddaughter because she had fallen asleep in the car on the way home from a day out which is what the parents call a 'danger nap' i.e. she will not sleep at night. We actually got there too late and the shop was closed but the man who came out to tell us was so lovely he brought us out a tub of ice cream for the baby thus avoiding a sleepless night for two very grateful parents. So kind.

Visited today on our way home. The service was good and organised, the staff very friendly and all was in line with the social distancing regulations, plenty of seating too 🙂 However, the beef, onion and mushroom bun was very bland and lacked flavour. The onions tasted watery. There was nothing offered to stir hot drinks, a wooden sirrer would suffice if cutlery isn't being used.
