Look out! If the patron thinks you’re late for your table, you will get a frosty reception. We’d moved our online table booking to 7:30-8, in person, with waiting staff the night before. But on arriving at 7:50 we were told our table had been cancelled because we were late. Staff flat refused to accept our explanation. Instead, as they’d decided to close up early, we had to have a takeaway, which was very disappointing as it was midgy and we were camping a mile away. No apology or hospitality, just repeatedly accusing us of being late, which we weren’t. Just to add a bit of insult to the

Stayed here for a couple of nights of luxury after some long hot days spent walking in from Loch Arkaig. Very comfortable and well equipped rooms with big soft beds which were much appreciated after two nights of wild camping. Delicious epic breakfasts, fantastic dinner in The Lookout and a great outside deck to enjoy a drink on. Owner and staff were really friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Visited the Lookout bistro on a family day out.
The restaurant is a gorgeous place to sit, with a very minimalist feel which is perfect because nothing should detract from the views!
We all had the fish and chips (my wife had hers with a really nice gluten-free batter), and it was delicious - lovely crunch and texture, and the fish was perfectly cooked. The chips appeared to be handmade. The portion was huge as well. For children, they offer to do a scaled-down version of the adult plates.
The adults couldn't manage dessert, but our daughter had a gorgeous toffee popcorn sundae, which went down

We had a wonderful stay at the gathering, Cara is so lovely and welcoming. The room was gorgeous and the bed was unbelievably comfy! We ate at the lookout, at the gathering, on our first night and the food was delicious and such good value, we wish we'd eaten there every evening in hindsight (instead we went to the old forge pub which we really don't recommend). We can't recommend a stay at the gathering more, and we really hope to be back!
