We can find the look you are after by finding a natural stone or by sourcing from our suppliers of Silestone, Quarella, Cambria or Caesarstone (to name but a few). Frontier Marble and Granite is a family run business based near Maldon in Essex.
If you would like to go for a natural stone kitchen worktop we would recommend Granite. Due to its good resistance to heat and cold, granite is a perfect fit for the kitchen - you can place hot pots, pans and ovenware directly onto the worksurface. Granite has minimum porosity, although it can still absorb small amount of liquid (especially when compared to quartz composite surfaces).
Quartz is a man made stone. It is a crystallized silicon dioxide (SiO2), which, when combined with stain resistant polymers, produces a hard wearing, non-porous material. The primary advantage of this property is that, unlike natural stone products quartz does not require a sealant that must be periodically reapplied.
New stone worktops require a little day to day care. They are pre-treated with a liquid silicone sealer which reduces its natural porosity and provides a protective coating. It will take 7 days for the sealer to fully dry. Do not use the worktop for at least 24 hours then take care during the following few days.
Clean the surfaces regularly with water containing soap or a mild detergent and a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse off surfaces with clean water. Stained sinks can also be cleaned by filling the bowl with water and a sterilising product, leave overnight then wash down with clean soapy water. Never use an acid based cleaner such as those containing methyl chloride or acetone (nail varnish remover).

Frontier were great to deal with. Not just because the price was much better than any other quotes we had but the quality of our quartz worktop and island was stunning.
