The Birmingham Contemporary Art Gallery
The Birmingham Contemporary Art Gallery is so much more than just an art gallery. Our vision is to challenge the barriers and perceptions in our society that can sometimes prevent people with tremendous creative ability from realising their potential and getting their work seen and heard, whether it's as a result of education, socio economic reasons, physical or mental health or not having the right contacts to access available opportunities.

We provide a growing platform for especially emerging as well as established local artists, that reflects the diversity within our community. We want to promote creativity and create a social forum for continued dialogue on issues that have prevented black and ethnic minority artists from being represented.
Services
The Birmingham Contemporary Art Gallery is based at Utilita Arena (formerly Arena Birmingham and NIA) opposite The National SEALIFE Centre Birmingham and directly above Legoland. Attended as part of a hen party squad. The experience was fantastic. Very knowledgeable staff. The lady was very very passionate and brilliant at what she does. They were so so kind enough to extend our session with an extra 15mins so we could finish our crafts..
My only suggestion would be to consider adding a session that is 90 mins long for the big groups- cause i would definitely pay for it…
Prosecco was amazing too .
I'd highly recommend this guys..

Think twice before engaging in the basics of human conversation with the male owner (jointly owned) and 'curator' of this gallery. I found him to be rude, patronising, condescending and not particularly knowledgeable about the art in question.
The gallery itself is said to lend support to mental health charities and offer opportunities to local artists worthy causes indeed. It is not a large physical space and maybe the layout and flow could be slightly better but it works on a very basic level. I have given it three stars for the warm, charming female partner in the gallery (sorry I didn't catch

A fantastic space a short walk from Brindley Place, next to the canal within the NIA building above Lego land. An airy and calm space filled with a range of art of varying prices, many affordable and some higher priced. An eclectic mix.

This new art gallery opened above the Legoland Discovery Centre Birmingham at Arena Birmingham during December 2019. I've visited twice and got photos. They are nice people and lots of art to see. Local artists can have their paints and sculptures on display. It is near the Birmingham Canal Navigations Mainline and opposite Brindleyplace. Head up the steps near Lego to access.
