I ordered over the phone 3 suits using measurements given to me…David was able to tell me that my measurements didnt quite work and helped me to correct them…we went in for a fitting and the advice from David was spot on!
All suits fitted perfectly!

I visited specifically to purchase a new suit, having been very happy with previous purchases. I was welcomed by a helpful staff member, and soon tried on a suit; it was excellent. The staff member arraged for the trousers to be shortened slightly; this was completed in 10 minutes free of charge. I also purchased a tie. I forgot to buy a new belt... that can wait until next time. Just a few minutes walk from New Street station, and highly recommended.

Went in and got measured for a suit. Never bought a complete suit before so I found the type I liked and went to speak to the staff. I think his name was Seb. He was very helpful. Tried on two size options and the second was good. Bought the suit and returned a week later following alterations and it fits perfect.
Lots of options for suit styles and a vast amount of accessories to complete the outfit.

I would not post 1 star if the option was available.
Dated suits in store. Not the same stock as shown online. Was repeatedly told that every suit we liked online was last season.
No customer service skills. Asked a guy called Jas for help and he just stood there and said there's the rack have a look through. Didn't even make eye contact with us, continued to play with a clothes hanger he was holding and was not concerned that we could have been paying customers.
The other staff in store seemed disinterested as well. Could see me stood there needing help and carried on talking and laughing to

I have seen this store 100s of times in Birmingham city centre, never been inside until today. I am looking for some clothing for a wedding and thought I'd give them a go.
I was looking at men's suits in the size 34 which is what I usually wear. I did not approach or ask for help from anyone.
A sales assistant advised me that "you're not a 34, you should try a 36". Fine. You're entitled to an opinion.
I told him I am a 34, and that is what I usually wear and so proceeded to try some of the suit jackets on. They have a decent selection.
Same sales associate seemed to be lurking around and came

Just been in and bought a suit for my daughters wedding.
Great choice, very helpful no pressure.
Measured when I got there, then pointed to the rights sizes.
Once I'd picked one and tried it on, one of the staff members checked if it needed adjusting.
This is a free service. I needed an inch off the jacket and trousers.
They will call me when it's done.

Cannot say enough fantastic things about slaters. been at the Glasgow branch a few times for Highlandwear and the staff are incredible. helpful without being pushy, good advice given, and very patient. the best service I've received anywhere. ever. I love going to slaters, as you know you'll be very well treated.

10/10 for unhelpfulness. Browsed for about 10 minutes with no attention given by the sales staff, when I did look around for help coincidentally all staff would face away. Usually in a specific place like this you would expect some help with fits, what you're after and so on. Unsurprised why people would choose to shop online. Anyway, found one I liked and tried it on. Didn't fit too well, so the nearest salesman handed me a different one that was £50 more expensive. Decided to go and change the sizes myself and after 30-40 minutes of trying on, found a really well fitting pair of trousers and

This shop is brilliant. Yesterday I needed to leave home at 2.00pm to travel to the hotel for my daughter’s wedding the day after. Stupidly not tried my suit on until that morning, well lockdown has not been kind to my weight. Went to Slater in Preston at 12.00pm explained my dilemma and walked out at 1.30pm with a new suit and the slight… alterations done and dusted. The staff in Preston were outstanding and have ensured my daughter’s wedding is not spoiled by a Father of the Bride busting out of a suit. Cannot recommend this shop enough. Shopping in my opinion, is a necessary evil , that was until I met Perry Mathers, at Slaters in Manchester. Attentive without bring obtrusive, expertly suggesting changes with such s friendly approach, yet still maintaing a professional edge. I truly believe this is the way forward with shopping, every shop needs a Perry! Thank you so much, for making a much dreaded Sunday into such a pleasent experience.

I, being a rather casual guy, do not do suits, but when I do, I will forever recommend this place and it's old fashioned attitude toward shopping. The staff are trained and helpful, not shoving their most expensive ranges down your throat but instead picking clothing that looks good on you...
I needed a suit for my friends wedding and as it was a rather fancy affair I figured I'd go the 3 piece way... Being that it was only the second time in my life is bought a full suit and I had some cash saved for the endeavour I really went in with a lot of expectations

One of the best formal clothes outlets ever!!! Defiantly my go to for formal wear. I'm surprised this is yet to be reviewed.
For people who are unaware, Slater's are a formal and partially casual clothes shop. Selling a wide range of Suits, ties, shirts, shoe's...You get the idae. However, they offer such a greater experience than just your average shop. This all boils down to the staff.
The whole shop floor situates on the 2nd floor, completely open planned with clothing in every place possible. The layout is neither cluttered, or overwhelming, and you can find your own way round

I imagined Slater's to be of good quality which it is but the range of clothing is old fashioned and over priced for my liking. They specialise in menswear and a host of different suits to buy. I have bought a leather coat from Slaters which I changed my mind when I got home. When I tried to exchange the item they could only accept it back for store credit which I was shocked to discover. I did though; get a full refund after writing a letter to the head office who then offered to change to a normal cheque. It was a lot of messing around which has but me off this shop entirely. Relocated from its former home in the Northern Quarter a couple of years ago, Slaters is now housed just off Market Street opposite Tesco, occupying the floor above H&M.
The old Slaters resembled a Primark for suits - the jackets were cheap and they looked it too! The shop looked stale and disorganised and was not the kind of place you'd go for stylish businesswear.
Years later, I needed to buy a new suit and thought I'd give the new Slaters a go and was pleasantly surprised. The suits are still cheap but in price only - they now carry many well known brand names at discount
