At Strand on the Green Infant and Nursery School, we place children at the heart of what we do, cherishing and inspiring them all with an active, engaging, and stimulating curriculum. Our highly experienced and committed staff work hard, in partnership with parents, to ensure every child can experience success.

We are proud to be an inclusive school that has the highest expectations for behaviour and learning right from the start. As an Infant school, we are able to capitalise on our expertise in teaching very young children, using a finely tuned pedagogy that suits our young learners. Whilst our focus is on the basic skills of reading, writing, and arithmetic, this is taught alongside a creative and broad curriculum.
Services
Our vision is that all children make excellent academic progress, no matter their starting point, developing and maintaining great physical well-being and mental health. We want them to leave our school, ready for the Junior School, with positive attitudes to learning, feeling confident and enjoying good relationships.
We employ highly talented teachers who bring with them enthusiasm and a love of their role. All teachers frequently review their teaching and continuously develop their classroom skills. Each class receives considerable additional support from classroom assistants and voluntary parental helpers.

The school also has an experienced team of administrators who ensure the smooth-running of the school, the welfare of the pupils, and effective communication with parents and the wider community.
School tours occur regularly throughout the year. Please ensure you book a place with our school office as these tours are very popular and places fill up quickly. Applications should be made to the Borough in which you permanently live, even if the school you wish to apply to is in another Borough it can be listed on your application form.
As a school, we are always keen to hear feedback from our parents, via regular questionnaires and conversations. It helps us to know what we are doing well and also ways we can continue to improve. Teachers are full of energy and notice the small things about my daughter that makes her unique. Thank you all.
Parents are invited to apply to Strand-on-the-Green Junior School in the Autumn term of Year 2. All Infant children have entitlement to a Junior School place. We look forward to your child joining us once they have finished their Infant career and we work closely with Vanessa and her team to make sure the transition is a smooth and happy one.

Some teachers are very rude I’m 11 but used to be in this school one teacher bullied me whenever I would cry because of the food she will say don’t cry like a baby and other things also sometimes there are bullies which will move to the junior school and cause problems there overall it’s just a normal school

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL! The staff of teachers are the best in the area. The care and attention they give my son by far exceeded any of my expectations. The curriculum that this school follows is absolutely amazing. He has been developing exceptional skills in geography, early math and reading. The instruction he receives and the teachers dedication to inspiring little students to learn far surpasses any expectations that I had. As if the instruction was not enough, the staff are amazing! All of the teachers are so positive and it is completely apparent how much they care for the children

Of the two schools on this site this is definitely the better. Very well thought of by parents, 97% say they would recommend the Nursery and Infants school to others (2016). As a result competition to get a place is high.
