Properties across the UK are susceptible to WoodWorm and Rot due to the climate and damp conditions. Factors to also consider are the methods used in the building trade combined with the materials used, along with lack of ventilation. If your timber is left without treatment or preventative action you are likely to encounter some sort of destructive Rot or Fungus which can lead to severe issues and decay within your property.
A DAMP SURVEY is non-intrusive. Your property will be investigated for penetrating damp, rising damp and areas of condensation. This will involve the use of an electronic moisture meter to take readings of all accessible wall sections of your home at both high and low level. Also whether the property has adequate ventilation.
Condensation is a common problem in many buildings, but once it is identified correctly, you can find the right solutions that allow it to be prevented completely. Our dampness inspections are carried out using the latest testing equipment which will determine the internal relative humidity, wall temperature readings as well as dampness readings to accurately diagnose condensation issues and provide comprehensive recommendations to solve them.
The term Rising Dampness' is used to describe the vertical movement of moisture through masonry that has no physical barrier to dampness and that is standing in water or damp spoil. Other issues including wood boring beetle infestation and timber decays are more likely to occur as surrounding timbers become saturated.
This Beetle is frequently found in historic buildings, churches, and cathedrals etc. The reason for this is that these buildings generally contain vast amounts of hardwoods such as Oak, which they prefer. Its name derived from the tapping sound the beetles make during the mating season - March - June it varies in size from around 6-9mm.

Avoid. This is the very worst company I have had the misfortune to encounter in my memory. 10 mins prior to start of internal works I was informed the worker would not arrive. 1 week or more later a destructive and highly unreliable worker arrived but only on occasions. When he was seen it was for a few hours and much of those hours he spent on his mobile. This company had me in tears upset and extremely distressed. The work was messy my property daily left untidy work incomplete andall was left in a disgraceful shameful condition. I have photographic evidence which I will supply. The company have
