Situated at Pyecombe and Herstmonceux, we are able to recycle 100% of inert waste received and intern are able to produce Recycled materials such as Crushed Concrete, Crushed Concrete Type 1, Concrete Cobbles and Screened Soils, which are all available for collection or delivery on various lorries and in various quantities.
We operate a Pegson XR400 and an 1100 x 650 premier tracked jaw crushers. We are able to provide a competitive crushing service throughout Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and Surrey. Our crushers are equipped with hydraulic jaws for five minute quick adjustments and come with magnetic belts. Our crushers have a very high capacity and are able to crush between 600 and 1000 tonnes per day, depending on the material and size, etc.
Our soil is carefully chosen and purchased from development sites such as building projects on agricultural sites where new farm buildings are being erected or lakes excavated, anywhere the top soil is not need, always making sure it's the best quality Sussex sandy loam.
The soil is then loaded and transported to our Herstmonceux indoor preparation site where we screen and mix with compost to suit different applications, monitoring the quality at all times.We produce two grades, 10mm screened or 50mm rotivated, both are ideal for laying turf or standard gardening projects.

Robins of Herstmonceux specialise in various Recycled products and over the years have managed to produce materials that fall within the WRAP Protocol. Most common is our Crushed Concrete, (6F2 or 6F5) used for roads, paths and site construction. This product is made in two different sizes - 75mm down or 50mm down, which is commonly known as Crushed Concrete Type 1.
Used for drainage, gabion and horse menages, etc. with Highways class certificates of 1B, we also supply a 40/10 drainage material. Our Chalk (which we quarry ourselves from Pyecombe) is one of the hardest and finest chalk materials found in Sussex. There are NO flints in the chalk. Was used as a capping layer on the A23 and under the Wind Farms at Polegate.
