The Party Wall etc. Act 1996 ("the Act") came into force in 1997 throughout England and Wales. As important as Planning Consent & Building Regulation Approval, it is your responsibility, not the Local Authority's, to find out whether that work falls within the Act and whether you need a Party Wall Agreement, properly known as a 'Party Wall Award'.
Disputes are to be avoided but when a matter becomes litigious it is often necessary to obtain an expert's report. These are usually required to be presented in a particular format (CPR35). Collier Stevens provides expert witness services for residential property matters across London & Kent. Landlord & tenant service charge disputes where we have acted for both freeholders and leaseholders.

Steve Way is by far the most helpful and approachable surveyor I have dealt with. He provides an efficient and professional service and on receiving the report he is happy to discuss any aspects of it with you if needed. He is also happy to meet at the property for the last 15 minutes of the survey if there is something specific you'd like to discuss with him. I cannot recommend Collier Stevens enough!

I will be recommending Collier Stevens to all my friends I have nothing but praise for their handling of my move . Their surveys have both ( my 1st choice of house was a disaster) been so thorough and easy to understand and anything I didn't was explained. Over the course of my move I have spoken to most of their staff who have been courteous and knowledgeable. I also feel that their fees are very reasonable given the level of service they offer .
