Services
Holiday cottages are a very competitive business and we like to think we stand out from the crowd in offering something which is just a touch different and better than our local competitors. Peace and tranquillity are the two most popular words in our Visitors books. John and I think we have something special here and would like you to come and enjoy yourselves too.
We hope that Bainvalley Cottages are going to have the most appropriate accommodation for you - whatever your needs. We have a stunning selection of quality, luxurious, welcoming cottages. Our main premise is to provide all that you need in order for you to truly relax and enjoy your holiday. We have high standards both in terms of cleanliness and quality.
With outstanding views over a peaceful rural valley, this spacious brick cottage is set just mile from the picturesque village of Hemingby, on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. North cottage is mirrored to South cottage with everything to the highest standard. Offering a tranquil retreat for visitors wishing to get away from it all, yet only a 20-minute drive from the Cathedral city of Lincoln and 40 minutes from its sandy beaches.
Bainvalley Holiday Cottages are approached from the village over a cattle grid and down a private tarmac drive. South Cottage is on the left-hand side with a foyer and cloakroom with WC adjacent to the entrance and perfect for storing coats and shoes. The main door leads right into the light and spacious kitchen/living area with a garden room adding extra space to enjoy the open panoramic views across the valley.
We have enjoyed converting a small barn into this much larger delightful holiday home and would like you to enjoy it too! It is called The Shamba which means "Farm" in Tanzania which is where our son lives and works. So it is from Tanzania with love. It has been an exciting journey and we are so pleased with the end result.

Just back from Christmas 2021. Best Christmas ever. Bain Valley is absolutely gorgeous. Cozy comfy clean and welcoming. Everything you could ever want is there. 13 people can't be wrong. Only thing was we didn't want to leave 😢. Wendy is lovely and all questions asked no matter how many lol.
Could not recommend highly enough. You will have the best time. Beautiful views to wake up to. Thank you Wendy xx

We have just come back from a lovely 5 night break. We stayed in the North Cottage and are so pleased we did. The views and open space were definitely the best part for us. We felt at home in the cottage, it had everything we needed and the homemade biscuits on arrival were a nice touch. Any help or questions we needed help with were answered quickly and Wendy was so friendly. We rented the beach hut a couple of times during our stay. It made a nice day out to the beach even better. We were able to make tea and coffee, there were bucket and spades, beach chairs, etc which was just great. We hope

The Shamba stands out as a beautiful property in a lovely setting. The furnishings are clean and comfortable, and the facilities are excellent. Although we have stayed at Bainvalley cottages several times, we still appreciate the welcome pack and gifts on arrival. The holiday home is easy to book. The owners keep you updated with text messages and respond quickly to enquiries. We enjoyed our stay immensely, and the peaceful location is all you could ask for, especially watching the wildlife and cows from the patio overlooking the unique Lincolnshire Wolds. Great location for exploring the countryside

I've visited Bainvalley cottages many times and have stayed in all of the cottages on different visits. I initially stayed after booking all of the cottages for a three day cycling holiday for our cycling club. We had a great break and booked again for the following year. My wife and I have also booked the cottages for both a short break and a week's holiday. All cottages are scrupulously clean and furnished and equipped to a very high standard. They're in a great location and perfectly placed to explore locally, or further afield. Wendy is an excellent host and happy to help with any questions

From the start of the booking, delayed by covid lockdown, communication was good and all our questions were promptly answered. As a large family group spanning the 8 to 70 something age range, we used all the cottages over a long bank holiday weekend. Warm, comfortable, clean, tidy and well equipped the cottages are maintained to a high standard, Surrounded by a working farm with good views across the fields with plenty of space and a (well used by us) tennis court.
There is ready access to a number of walks and facilities, the coast is accessible, the pub is a ten minute walk and local shops

We loved it the pets and the kids in our 3 family groups in the 3 properties had a great time after the long lockdown. Sitting outside in the April sunshine sipping beer with friends-just what we needed. Thank you Wendy and the family.

If you want somewhere quiet and secluded to unwind, look no further.
A great place to stay near historic Lincoln, and the lovely market towns of Louth and Horncastle. The coast is not too far away, although sadly we didn’t get a chance to visit.
The highlight of our stay was definitely the gorgeous view. Rural idyll springs to mind. Our two young children really loved the cows!
The house itself is well equipped, comfortable, and quite recently and tastefully redone. We loved being able to sit outside in the evenings looking out over the sunset-lit fields.

Myself, my sister and our five children stayed here for a long weekend. The cottages are so lovely - really clean and beautifully presented. I loved all of the artwork on the walls, much of which is done by the host Wendy's daughter. Wendy was so warm and welcoming (& provided the most delicious chocolate brownies as a welcome treat!) The immediate area that the cottages are in is stunning (& if you have a dog, perfect for walking them) and there is just so much to do in the surrounding area - we squeezed in a beach trip, a farm trip and a woodland walk in the three days we were there.)
