Palmer

Purchased a tie, attempted to return it within 45 minutes as when i took it out of the shop the colour looked different in the light. I was told of a strict no refund policy. my dissatisfaction could have been avoided if they informed me before I made the purchase.
That alone wasn't the reason for a bad rating, the staff member became confrontational. throwing out nonsensical statements "we are not M&S, we would be out of business if we did returns"

En route to a wedding in Streatham, I realised I had left my suit in Leicester ... I googled a local, independent suitor & opted for Palmer. Genius! Suit, shirt & tie within the hour, thanks to the exceptionally warm & personal attention of Keri. He calmed my stress, took on board my wife's comments, engaged my 3 girls. Spending more than I had budgeted for, David (the owner) threw in a couple of smaller items as a gift. I left the store not just smiling, but feeling a million dollars; and comments at the wedding affirmed this!

Looking at the unfavorable review above, I can only say that in my experience the staff at Palmer's are always incredibly helpful and polite, and cannot imagine them being rude or unhelpful.

Patronising and rude staff. I went into the shop to buy a pair of shoes and the way my family and I were treated by the staff has ensured I will never set foot in this shop again. The gentleman behind the till made comments on the shorts I was wearing which I found actually personally offensive.
In the days when retail faces stiff competition from online, I find it unbelievable that shops like this think their staff can speak down to, and patronise their potential customers in this manner.
Based on the store staff, even if this was the last shop on earth I wouldn't shop here.
