Penshaw Car Centre is located at Station Road, Mount Pleasant, Washington - just 300m from the Washington Highway. We are a fully equipped garage providing MOTs, vehicle servicing, car and van repairs and car and van hire for the local motorist. We also provide a supply-only tyre checking and fitting service for cars, vans, motorcycles and scooters.
It is a legal requirement that all cars and motorcyces over three years old must have a valid MOT certificate. A valid MOT Certificate is needed to tax a vehicle that is over three years old and without one you may not be correctly insured in event of an accident or other claim.
Penshaw Car Centre is approved by the Department for Transport as an MOT Testing Station Number VTS-29651 and has MOT Testers accredited by The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency.We will carry out your MOT Test while you wait or alternatively, leave your vehicle with us and we will contact you on completion of the test.

Our fully equipped workshops include pit and hydraulic ramps to facilitate efficient repairs to your vehicle. MOT repairs can be carried out on site and we endeavour to achieve same-day repair whenever possible. Overnight secure storage is available for those occasions when we are awaiting next-day delivery of specialist parts.

Over two thirds of modern vehicles are manufactured with air conditioning systems and climate control systems fitted as standard, however very few if any of these systems will have had a re-gas service during their lifetime. Re-charging your air con system is not included as part of your annual service.

I called Penshaw Car Centre as I had realised my MOT was due within 7 days. I contacted the team and they immediately put me at ease and book me in with a slot that was convenient to me even with such short notice. The MOT was booked in, completed and handed back in a prompt time. The team at Penshaw Car centre are top notch and will defo be going back should i need any assistance in the Future. 10 out of 10!

Only used this garage once, but the experience was really good!!! The Mrs had a broken front coil spring on a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 which the lads booked in for an appointment a few days later.
Appointment went smoothly, picked the car up same day and communication was good from the sales office. All seemed to be done for a reasonable price.
Will use again!!! 5 stars 🌟

Booked a small wheelbase transit from here on Wednesday evening.
Paid the deposit via debit card over the phone. Easy.
Picked up the van on Thursday morning with a quick tutorial of its controls and such. Given a day of hassle free use for £44 (May 2016). Very economical use of the throttle and I only used £6.50 of diesel, almost using up the 50 free miles I was given to use, although its only 10p a mile if you go over that amount. Dropped the van off late in the afternoon, and my deposit was repaid into my debit card, actually beating the deposits actual withdrawal.

Went to this garage for a front spring replacement, part ordered for me, and job done "that day", brilliant. Unfortunately the spring broke after 15 month,s and less than 500 miles, not holding out much hope for guarantee after 12 months went back anyway and spoke to "Malcolm" the owner, he checked back through all his paperwork and found the spring came with a 2 year guarantee, ordered a new one for me and fitted next day, totally free!! what class service, could,nt believe that kind of service in today,s could,nt care less kind of attitude, tremendous service, recommend this garage to everyone
