We thought Helen's funeral went perfectly and we can't think of any way it could have been improved. Thank you so much for making it such a special day. You have a really lovely family that made us feel comfortable and at peace in this devastating time for us. Thankyou to all of you from the bottom of our hearts xxxxxx.
Telephone the doctor: When someone dies at home, the first contact should be with the deceased's doctor who, if satisfied with the cause of death, will issue the Medical Certificate of Death. In some cases you may be asked to collect the certificate from the surgery. In the case of a nursing home death, their staff should liaise with the doctor.
You normally need to register a death within five days. It is best to go to the register office in the area where the death occurred, otherwise it may take longer to receive the documents you need and this could delay the funeral. It will take around half an hour to register the death. You would usually need to call ahead first and make an appointment beforehand.
Another consideration is the type of funeral you would like. This is a highly personal decision and offers a chance to celebrate the unique qualities of the deceased. One of the first aspects to be decided is whether the funeral is to be a burial or cremation, and where and when you would like it to be held.

I would 100% recommend Revel funeral directors. They are been Totally amazing helping us though the hardest time after our little boy was stillborn. We didn't know how to arrange a funeral and Jamie was fantastic at helping us though every step and looked after our little boy with great care. I cannot thank them enough, we got to see our beautiful baby boy a couple of times and bring him home the night before the funeral this meant the world to us. Thank you so much for everything.
