We are a family-owned company with more than a century of experience caring for the bereaved with consideration and empathy, supporting our clients through their emotions.

Their son, Sean, is the 5th generation and is a Company Director, alongside Chris Collings. However individualised your plans might be, our funeral directors will work with you every step of the way to shape a service that best reflects your loved one and celebrates their life.

Situated at the top end of Gorleston High Street, this popular office is easily recognisable by its large clock facing the road. Naomi, Nina and Lynne are all experienced funeral arrangers, who will be able to help with funeral plans and any initial memorial inquiries.
The office has its own private car park, which is located at the back of the premises, and its own Chapel of Rest, which is available for families to use should they wish to visit their loved ones whilst in our care. There is a small selection of memorials on display, or please visit the showroom on Northgate Street in Great Yarmouth if you wish to speak to the stonemason or see the much larger selection.

Our aim is to make planning a funeral for your loved one as simple, transparent and straightforward as possible for all the family. Our staff will guide you through every step of the way sympathetically and practically from the first call you make to us to ensure the funeral reflects your lost loved one exactly.
We will talk you through the costs for different funerals and always provide you with a written estimate in advance of the funeral. This way, you know exactly what it will cost, subject to any additions made after the estimate has been given. Examples of such additions would be obituaries or service sheets.
A Simple Funeral from Arthur Jary & Sons will provide the highest quality service without the extras, such as a limousine or a service in Church. Viewing of the deceased (although we will allow limited viewing during normal office hours). The newest addition to our service portfolio, our 'in house' funeral service is designed for those families who may wish for a small, intimate gathering at one of our Chapels of Rest.

At an emotional time, faced with what felt like so much to do and never having been in this situation before, your clarity and sensitivity were invaluable. Your website sets out information clearly so it is less overwhelming. At the start it provided a valuable source of reference for things to think about, so we could discuss them with family… and friends, before making decisions on how we wanted to celebrate the life of our loved one. Then your excellent communication over the phone and via email, together with a detailed quote, meant one thing we didn’t have to worry about was the

Having had the misfortune to need AJS (Lowestoft) services twice in 12 months I can't compliment them enough. Karen and Jane in the office, the chaps who are there for viewings in the evenings (this year, thanks Paul!) and (again, this year) huge thanks to our funeral director on the day, Martin..warm, friendly and professional. Also the many… people who I didn't speak to directly or names I didn't get. The service you all provide, at what is a desperately sad time, has been first class. You all contributed in one way or another to make it so much easier than it would've been without you
