Services
High Cross Equestrian Centre is a British Horse Society approved livery yard, offering stabling facilities for up to 50 horses. We have both American Barn stabling and Outdoor Boxes. We offer Full, Part or D.I.Y. Livery, and have all-year round turnout on over 80 acres. Our facilities are in excellent condition with a show jumping course, as well as both indoor & outdoor arenas so the weather will never prevent you exercising your horse.
High Cross Equestrian Centre Riding School is approved by both the British Horse Society and the Association of British Riding School. Our qualified instructors teach all ages and abilities, and we own a number of well schooled ponies and horses to suit all levels - children can start form as young as four years of age.
High Cross Equestrian Centre is conveniently situated and easily located from the M6 or the M69. Leave the M69 at Junction 1 and take the A5 exit towards Rugby and London. After about 2 miles turn left onto the B577 towards Claybrooke Magna, and you will see High Cross Equestrian Centre on the right.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality
The instructors aren't qualified or trained properly, you never get the same instructor it's a different one each week. They say they offer private lessons but refuse to do privates for some children then will do them for others the service you get depends whether the instructor favourites your child or not!

Can honestly say that my 6 year old daughter has been treated fantastically well here and has had brilliant pony riding instruction particularly from Hayley, (a highly qualified instructor) and other instructors over 2 years. She had a party here and all the children had a fantastic time, with the riding session taken by Hayley and her apprentice and the grooming side of it by other young people who work in the stables. Cannot comment on livery, but for riding lessons, I cannot fault it.

Wanted to share my experience of being shown round as a potential new livery. I was greeted by Melissa the livery manager who was extremely helpful and positive about caring for my rather awkward horse! (Unlike other livery yards I had visited!) the yard and facilities are beautiful and well accompanied by a knowledgeable team of staff who had an authentic happy to help attitude.

I guess that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but my experience of High Cross is very different to some of the reviews below.
As a 34 year old complete novice, I was scared stiff of making the first call to enquire about riding lessons, never mind actually getting on a horse.
Jo answered the phone and was so friendly and helpful (as she always is!), and ever since then it's been a fantastic place to learn to ride.
I've had a couple of teachers, all great, but now with Hayley this has become my favourite place to be on a Friday. She is a great coach, has the patience of a saint and

I have recently moved my horse from this shocking place, & regret the day I ever took him there as he has suffered at the hands of the owners (former slaughterhouse owners)
My horses health has suffered with regards their inability to look after the basic needs the horse required, such as water, feeding, clean stable, clean bedding, this was enhanced by inexperienced staff members, and no one taking accountability for their actions - or lack of action!
The final bill was actually paid early & the yard owner padlocked a gas canister to my trailer to stop me moving it, refusing to check his bank

Had my horse on livery here. Moved her after the apprentices lied to my face about her feed being made up for the morning ( should be dry with water added just before feeding), was fed up with the small bed, restricted hay/haylage, yard owner changed the haylage to hay with no advice to the horse owners along with repeated missed feeds.
First year apprentices are holding children's birthday parties unsupervised and have been seen teaching.

I have been riding at Highcross EC for many years and have always had such a good and enjoyable experience. The staff and horses are both so amazing and I highly recommend this riding school. I am more than happy with the horses here as they behave really well and perform very well too, they never fail to impress me. I look forward to my riding lessons each week, as its guaranteed fun and we try new things all the time. I couldn’t ask for a better riding school, it’s just amazing.
