My mother was brought to the old Rectory in palliative care in August after DRI refused to remove gangrenous toes! All the staff there are lovely and extremely helpful, but very busy so I do think they could do with a couple extras. In Oct they noticed my mother wasn’t herself and after trying to get her own GP to see her for 5 days (didn’t turn… up when he said he would) they got an emergency Dr and she was readmitted to DRI, turns out with a water infection. From this she has had 2 operations to clear her arteries and remove part of her foot/toes where the gangrene was. Yesterday

My Aunt is currently residing in the Old Rectory Nursing Home and it has been her home for the last 5 years. My mother also was there for a short while in 2016 as well. My Aunt has been looked after and has received excellent care and special attention in all this time. The staff who oversee her welfare, well being and care are a credit to the… nursing and social care profession and are very thoughtful, considerate, caring and attentive to not only my Aunt but also to every resident. Tea,coffee and drinks are offered in abundance and great entertainment and interaction with activities are

Shameful from walking in to walking out, no interaction with clients whilst completing moving and handling tasks and transferring, the whole place smelt of stale urine, all staff chatting amongst themselves, chatting to residents visitors whilst hoisting a different resident, not one client in the living room had a drink with them, hadn't had a drink since breakfast (this was 11.30) no chair in bedroom, very undignified put a bib on a resident without even asking if she would like one or needed one, this lady has full capacity and certainly doesn't need a bib, no activities residents just sit round

I am struggling to understand the negative comments about this outstanding care home. My mum was lucky enough to live here until her sad passing in January. During her time here she received nothing but the most attentive care and consideration for all her needs, during her final weeks her dementia got steadily worse but nothing was too much… trouble from all staff (nurses care workers housekeeping and catering staff) I can honestly say the last month's of my mum's life were spent in comfort warmth and friendship. I would like to thank all of the staff for all of their care and compassion
