Aspect Design was established in 1978 by partners Allan Smith and Phil Brown. It is still run by Allan Smith, together with his wife and partner, Sue; their son, Daniel; and employee, Paul Sykes. Sue's grandfather was C. E. Tucker, the founder of the Mumbles Press (pictured right), so you could say that printing ink runs in the family's veins!
We are based in Malvern, Worcestershire. The Midlands area has a long tradition of producing excellent printers, one need only to consider the presence of the Birmingham School of Printing to understand why this may be. The school produced over five hundred different titles under the tutelage of Leonard Jay, and exerted a huge influence over a whole generation of typographers, setting the standard for print education worldwide.

Services
We can produce eye-catching designs for all print media, such as leaflets, magazines, packaging and stationery. Aspect Design have created new logos for many clients, both small and large, and can produce illustrations to specification, including cartoons, maps, diagrams, etc. We also provide a photography and image-manipulation service.
We specialise in digital printing, which means that we can print straight from a digital file to the printer without the protracted, and costly, pre-press processes, such as running the artwork to film, making a plate, changing the ink, etc., that used to be necessary with offset lithographic printing.
During the Golden Age of Printing (from the mid-thirteenth century to the early seventeenth century) printers were also publishers and book sellers. To quote Ernst Lehner in Symbols, Signs and Signets, They were the intellectual and cultural upper class of their time. Aspect Design was established with the ambition of providing high-quality design and print to the vibrant artistic and writing community of Malvern and the surrounding area.
