Now Club members can advertise bowls equipment and clothing either wanted of for sale on the For Sale page. And it's congratulations to our own Val Davis and Ella Crouch who played in the final. It was a roller-coaster game with Devon taking a early lead, 8 shots up after 5 ends. Devon were 6 up after 10 but then Surrey fought back to lead by 13 after 15 and 12 after 18 ends.
A strong finish by Devon resulted in the final 2 shot victory. The Ladies Pairs final was played last Saturday with Di Needham and Liz Lock winning by 26-21 over Rosie Lee-Russell and Jean Welch. So far he has been to Tiverton West End and Tiverton Borough, Crediton and United Services, Ilfracombe and Braunton, Bideford and Bideford Victoria Park, Barnstaple and Rock Park, Hatherleigh and Great Torrington and Exonia and Topsham.

Services
Torquay Bowling Club has been a very popular host to many, many Touring sides over the years. We can accommodate up to eight Rinks on our Outdoor Green. During the winter months we operate two Short Mats and welcome touring sides. The bowling green at Belgrave Road has been the mecca for bowlers for just over 100 years.
ELEPHANT from a visiting Circus was the direct cause of the Club having to leave its first home on the Town's Recreation Ground and it happened one night in the 1890's. The Elephant broke out of its housing in a nearby field, trampled through a stream onto the bowling green, flooded and completely devastated the green.
Here's a photo courtesy of Alan Biddulph to remind us, as if needed, what a great location our green occupies. We were delighted for Ella Crouch and Neve Dawson who were both selected for the Devon Belles, the Devon county team that played for the Amy Rose Bowl at Leamington Spa. The Belles did very well, only losing in a semi-final after an extra end to the eventual winners.
Social Events The Social Committee are planning a number of events for this coming winter and full details will be here. Coffee Mornings are going to be held this winter. The intention is to hold a coffee morning on the first Saturday of each month. All members are welcome. Don't forget that nominations are required for all office posts in the club, why not put your name forward and help to run the club.
