Nikki and Phillipa had spent a year looking for the right kennels, searching from Chichester to Lincoln for the one that would suit their requirements, one of which was that it had sufficient land dedicated to the dogs. Norstead was the only one that they found that really had enough grassed area for the 'guests' to run around and play in - it has two acres, divided up into four fenced runs, so it should be enough for even the most energetic of dogs.In fact, 'Freedom to run' is the kennel's catchphrase.
Services
You can probably guess from the size of the exercise area that Norstead Hall Kennels has enough capacity for a lot of animals, and you'd be right: its 82 kennels are registered for up to 120 dogs and 60 cats, making it the largest kennels in North Norfolk.

It was obvious from when they took over that Nikki and Phillipa would have a lot to do to bring Norstead up to date in terms of meeting modern regulations, so a chat was had with the District Council, who were very helpful.Environmental Services were also closely worked with, and now Health & Safety and staff procedures are all in place.

Terrible service. Do not take your animals here. I've always been sceptical of them but this has confirmed it. We took my dog here one year and when he came out he was in a terrible state, really poorly and seemed shaken up. My family have always respected their service however and this year I booked my cats in. Sadly now I can't go home because a family member has tested positive for covid. So I called and the woman who answered the phone was curt and unfriendly. I am glad I have cancelled because I would not want my animals with them if this is how they treat others. Who knows what they do there

First time we have used this kennels for a stay which was over Christmas 2021 and it was excellent. Almost a shame that the current owners are closing but after 18 years they have earned some down time.
Our dog seemed very happy on drop off and collection and all communication was efficient and accurate.
Excellent experience, thank you.

Our dogs Millie and Milo were well looked after. and Milo our male dog came home liking other dogs which was a wow factor because he would have gone to attack any other dog. He is ten years old and the vets said we will never get it out of him..

Don't go there - (I will have to add response here as unable to to type response to owner comment below, anywhere else, Firstly I would like to point out this is my view of your service. Secondly we did use your service for our Dog Dylan, I had refrained from detailing what was wrong with the service received but very happy to describe how distressed Dylan was when he left. Why would we correspond with you when my wife felt belittled when she picked him up, and all she wanted to do was to forget the whole experience. Finally my profile is in no way an alias so i would be grateful if you would remove

My dog is always happy to arrive and enjoys his stay. Norstead does not look much from a humans view, but the dog loves it and that's what counts.
