Tom was raised in a creative environment, his mother a potter and his father an artist, both inspiring his interest in the art world. He became captivated with how design, colour, and material had such a major impact on the presentation of artwork. Realising these decisions were crucial in making a picture frame work seamless, not only with the artwork itself but also the interior in which it was being displayed.
Alongside the strong influences of designers such as Charles and Ray Eames, Tom soon paved his own career in picture framing becoming a pioneer of innovative crafted frames, created from his own designs. These ideas continue to evolve to this day. The studio is based within an artisan ran mews in Kemp Town where exhibitions and events are held throughout the year.

They are the only framer we work with that will visit their clients in their homes or businesses for an initial consultation, frame to the highest standard and arrange delivery and hanging. Tom has been framing my pictures and my own work for a fair few years and is, without doubt, the best framer in Brighton and Hove. Not only is his attention to detail excellent, and quality of work fabulous, but his eye and advice are spot-on too if you need to discuss what to do.

We have now had 3 pictures recently framed by Thomas: a very large photograph (by Finn Hopson), a piece of printed fabric from Japan and a set of pages of Chinese characters from a note book - so all very different and requiring different approaches. We have been absolutely delighted with the results and have very much appreciated Thomas's advice and guidance in the choices we made for the mountings and frames. He shows consummate workmanship, a wonderfully artistic eye and is charming and interesting as well as being conscientious and reliable. We'd always return to him for further work and recommend
