Restaurant-quality Thai cuisine at our 'drive-thru' takeaway on Dockray and at events & festivals in Cumbria. In 2006, Thai Kitchen in Lakeland began catering for dinner parties at private homes and holiday cottages throughout Cumbria. From that time our business expanded, and in 2016 we embraced the fledgling street food scene in Kendal and we began to cater at local and national events, focusing on Cumbria.

So I did. And here I am, cooking for you, in your home or holiday cottage, at your event, or for your wedding. I had been thinking setting up a Thai street food stall for a few years, but never committed to it. I always use genuine ingredients, cooked authentically, and more important, restaurant quality.
It is amazing what can happen within a few years. We cooked Thai meals by the street on our little market stall - the one we use for events and shows around Cumbria - and catered for workers on the industrial estate Tuesday, Thursday and Friday lunchtimes. By July demand had grown for our food, so we closed on Tuesday and opened every Thursday from 12 until 9.
We don't deliver because we want your food to be the best possible, straight from the wok, no waiting for delivery. My recipes use genuine Thai ingredients, no compromise, no substitutes, no look-a-likes, to bring you the best in authentic Thai cuisine, and I source fresh meat, fish, and vegetables from local suppliers whenever possible.
We have tried to provide answers to many of the questions you may have about how you can order a Thai takeaway. If there is anything you need clarification for which is not listed below, then please contact us and we will try to help you. You will find all our dishes and their costs, along with our allergen/dietary details for each dish.
Restaurant-quality food, on the street, cooked while you wait. Fresh, using genuine Thai ingredients and local suppliers whenever possible. Also, we are eco-friendly; we have been since we started catering in 2006. You won't find any plastic trays, forks or cups here, everything goes back into the ground.

This is place is a hidden gem 💫
We stayed at a cottage near by and came across this restuarant purely through google. I rang the number on the website and the owner answered. He was polite and very helpful (as we were wanting to cater for 21 people).
The food was beautiful and hot with very good portion sizes. Very member of our party loved it and even the kids were fighting over the vegetavle noodles.

The Thai kitchen has never disappointed! My partner loves the red curry and my personal favourite is the pad thai! They are always absolutely delicious meals! And not to mention the wonderful customer service you always receive! I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you so much for yet another fantastic meal, we shall see you again soon! :)
