St Catherine's Nursery in Leyland is an independent daycare centre providing excellent quality childcare 49 weeks of the year. We maintain a happy, lively and stimulating environment where pre-school children from the ages of two to five enjoy a high standard of education and care. St Catherine's is a "full daycare" facility that also offers limited free places to parents seeking part-time / sessional places.

Our 'Outstanding' nursery was established in 1998, and although is situated within the Primary School building, enjoys the benefits of an independent establishment. The nursery welcomes everyone in the local community, we maintain a happy, lively and stimulating environment, where pre-school children aged two to five years, enjoy a high standard of pre-school education and care.
Our nursery staff retention is excellent, therefore our nursery provides consistency for you and your child which enables strong relationships to develop, which in turn supports children to grow in confidence and self-esteem. The nursery staff team are dedicated to working with parents to provide the best start for each individual child.
Helen Brockliss has been selected by the Early Years Foundation Stage Consultancy Team as a designated Lead Practitioner for the past four years. The scheme was established to contribute to the continued development of high-quality practice within the Early Years Foundation Stage throughout Lancashire.
Positive, caring relationships based on trust and respect, are at the heart of our philosophy. Providing a safe, secure and happy nursery environment, where each child is treated as an individual. To establish a broad and balanced early years curriculum working towards the Early Learning Goals, as set out in the statutory practice of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
We fully understand the importance of promoting healthy living, we offer a healthy and nutritious two week rolling snack menu which adds variety along with ensuring your child is offered the recommended quantities of all the food groups on a daily basis. All children have access to drinking water at all times throughout each day, at Snack times the children are able to have the choice of milk or water.

Very highly recommended nursery. Before starting at St. Catherine’s my son had never been to nursery, so it was a big shock to both of us when it was time to start pre school. The support and understanding from the staff was so helpful, we had plenty of settling in sessions in the month before starting. The home visit is a lovely idea which made… him feel more relaxed with his key worker. He has thoroughly enjoyed his time at St. Catherine’s, he’s grown in confidence and made some great friends. The staff are fantastic, friendly and we will miss them all.

I would defo recommend st Catherine’s nursery the staff are all amazing my 8 year old girl went and my 4 year old little boy is just leaving I have my 2 year old starting next year ! My little boy has autism and non verbal and in nappies they went above and beyond to meet his needs and he has loved his time there I know he is going to miss them all

Both my Children have attended this Nursery and have absolutely loved it. My little girl is there now and looks forward to her days to go. There always seems to be something going on during the day as she always comes home with a story to tell. Both have my children came on leads and bounds here. The staff are lovely and friendly and always will to help with anything and chat at any time.

My little girl started the nursery in April 17 and she has come on leaps and bounds. She’s loves going to nursery so much so she wants to go at weekends. The nursery environment is amazing with a wide range of toys and equipment for the children to both learn and play. The staff are also excellent and take the time to get to know each child’s individual needs. I can’t recommend St Catherine’s Independent Nursery enough. It’s amazing.

This nursery is just fantastic. They really take the time to get to know every child and help them to thrive. The educational activities they do are outstanding there's always something different going on to stimulate them as well as a great sturdy routine. There is always a lovely happy atmosphere and all the staff work so hard and are friendly and dedicated. Deacon has really come along so well these last 6 months he really enjoys coming to St Catherine's everyday

I would recommend this nursery to anyone. My daughter loved it and she went to school a happy and confident little girl as a result of the caring and professional staff here. The atmosphere is fun and engaging and the commitment to learning is excellent. We had no problems here at all and we all miss the staff dearly. A fantastic start to her education!
