Diamond wheels was established in 1998, but has almost twenty years in the car repair industry. Initially we offered a mobile fast and efficient alloy wheel refurbishment service to the car trade and general public serving garages such as BMW, Ford, Jaguar, Honda, Mercedes etc in Greater Manchester, Stockport, Cheshire and surrounding areas.

Our fully equipped workshops at our new premises in Stockport are where we repair and transform the alloy wheels into a showroom like condition. Although most alloy wheels could be repaired by diamond wheel's mobile service, it soon became apparent that some wheels needed that extra touch to return them to their former glory.
Services
As mentioned on our Home page Diamond wheels was established in 1998 but has been in the car repair trade since 1990, so we have many years experience in the automotive industry and have been able to use that experience to ensure customer satisfaction and the prestigious quality of work that our customers require when having their wheels refurbished.
This is a method of painting by which electrically charged powder paint is applied via a high voltage low ampere power unit to a grounded work piece i.e. alloy wheel. Electrostatic attraction holds the powder onto the coated part. The coated part is then heated in an industrial oven at 200 degrees which then melts/fuses the powder onto the alloy wheel.
In most cases we would recommend a full refurbishment of your wheels to achieve a 'good as new' look. They will go through a 3 stage powder coating / paint process to give a very durable and high gloss finish.

The wheels are then inspected for damage especially the lips of the rims any cracks & deep scratches on the rim edges, faces and spokes will be filled in by alloy tig welding, they will then be machined using various techniques & hand tools. They are then always finished by hand. The wheels are pre-heated in an industrial oven to 200 degrees for 20 minutes to de-gas the alloy then a powder coat primer is applied.
It doesn't take much to buckle a wheel given the amount of pot holes on the roads, especially around Stockport and Manchester. If you drive over a pot hole this can result in flat spots or dents to your wheels, which can cause loss of air pressure from your tyres or vibration whilst driving.

We can repair most of this type of damage using the latest equipment and repair techniques(we don't just heat up the wheels and hit them with a hammer and hope for the best like some people do).Our machinery can handle wheels up to 22 inch using a variety of different tips and hydraulic rams as well as using D.T.I.(Dial Test Indicator) gauges which are accurate to 0.001mm.
Diamond cutting is also known as single point diamond turning(S.P.D.T) or diamond turning it is a process where the alloy wheel is placed in a lathe and a small layer of the of the wheel surface is machined off the alloy wheel with a diamond pointed cutting tool. The down fall of having diamond cut wheels is they are prone to corrosion or the (white worm) effect.
