The company began expanding throughout the early 1980's to cover Bristol and later, especially for the larger drainage engineering projects, the whole of the South West.
In the late 1980's the first lorry combination unit was purchased and the name was changed to Mega-Rod to reflect the size of the drains our engineers were beginning to clear. Nowadays the company continues to clear domestic and commercial drains but also operates a fleet of bright yellow lorry based industrial vehicles to cater for the industrial market too.

We are a drain cleaning company in Bath and also cover Bristol, Wiltshire, Trowbridge, Chippenham, Saltford, Keynsham, Frome, Chipping Sodbury, Westbury, Warminster & Radstock. We undertake all aspects of drainage work, including unblocking blocked drain, CCTV drain surveys, septic tank emptying and cleaning, drain root cutting and high pressure water jetting.
The domestic services division is equipped to deal with all aspects of home drainage including septic tank emptying, CCTV drain surveys, unblocking drains, root cutting, drain tracing and drain repair. Our van mounted jetting units are specially designed to ensure that your drains can be cleared quickly and efficiently from one vehicle.
Our commercial services division was established to meet the specific demands of business. As drain contractors we clean, inspect and repair the drains of companies in Bath, Bristol and Wiltshire who have a variety of sites with varying drainage requirements. Besides emergency work we operate a year round planned maintenance schedule to minimise the risk of a costly and inconvenient blockage.
Our industrial division encompasses a wide range of services for hire in Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire. The specialist high-pressure jetting vehicles not only clean drains but roads, concrete works and even factories. Although our lorries mainly clear larger diameter drains they are versatile enough to clear badly blocked smaller drains.

Mega-Rod responded to my issue in a prompt and professional manner. When the engineer attended my property he was friendly and talked me through what had been found and what works he was undertaking. The engineer resolved the issue in less than an hour but his process was thorough. The engineer took care in my possessions, returning all items as they were found. I would have no doubts in using this company going forward.

A great big thank you to Andy Foster for doing a proper job on my drains today, after 6 year's of problems it's the first time that any drainage company has actually done a proper clean of the drains, before it was just a quick prod with the rods, and job done. This time was different a full clean of my drains, which hopefully will keep them unblocked, once again thank you Andy Foster, a very pleasant and courteous young man

I had to call in a company as my drain was flowing very slowly. They arrived and identified the problem was in a shared drain that was not on my property. They contacted Wessex Water and they sent out Mega Rod. A young chap by the name of Darryl arrived very quickly and identified the problem. He went to work and c!eared the blockage in suoer quick time. I can't praise this company enough. Darryl was prompt, efficient, polite and very courteous. A credit to the company and I would recommend this company to anyone (and everyone).

Successfully unblocked our outside storm drain. Speedy friendly service. Lovely chap explained everything thoroughly and cleaned up and disinfected the area afterwards. They were the second firm I called, chose them for their simple pricing with no hidden extras and the clear and simple way in which the process was explained over the phone. fyi £120 for an hour (inc VAT). Great work Mega Rod!
