Our Team of coaches / instructors are highly experienced outdoor professionals coming from a variety of backgrounds. Alan Pinnington holds a PGCE in Secondary Education which he achieved after graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Studies and Information Technology as well as a Higher National Diploma in Leisure Management. Alan has climbed, walked and paddled extensively throughout Europe and the U.K. He holds many national governing body qualifications in the outdoors but mountaineering and open canoeing are where his heart is.
Ray Goodwin - MBE acts as our 'technical expert' under the Adventure Activities Licensing Regulations 1996 and advises Mountain Water Expeditions on safety and good practice in the outdoors.

Ray is at the top of his game here in the UK holding The Mountaineering Instructors Certificate and British Canoe Union Coach 5 in Inland Kayak, Sea Kayak and Canoe (He was the first to be assessed in all three) and is also a BCU Coach Educator able to deliver Coach 1 to 3. Ray's practice is based on experience.
Jim Bradley has been working in the outdoors for nearly 20 years, but playing for over 30. Getting back into the hills is a current priority and he has started climbing with enthusiasm again. He is enjoying the varied and rewarding work of spending his time with adults and young people engaging in different challenges on a daily basis!
Dr Wil Roberts (MBCHB MRCGP) is a GP born and bread in the heart of Snowdonia. Having graduated in 2003, he worked in Aintree Hospital gaining experience in Acute Medicine and AED. In 2006 Wil travelled to Brisbane, Australia where he worked in the Princess Alexandra Hospital Emergency Department and spent time working as a GP in the Queensland outback.

Completed a Mountain Training Lowland Leader Trainibg with Mountain Water Expeditions earlier this year. Well planned & delivered course. Thank you so much - I will be back to completed one of your REC first aid courses very soon.
