These are my own views based on my own experiences.
Don't check their performance and believe it. Their performance indicators must be based on the turn around as although you scan your fingerprint at the gate, your time doesn't start until you scan it again at the office. If you scan it when you get to the office you will be booked in and asked to scan it again so they can meet their turn around times set by their managers. Give drivers some credit you do not have 5 vehicles on site with 20 mins turn around. You have 20 -30 vehicles on site with 2 hour turn around. This is based on yesterday

If you have to go, good luck. Your likely to be 2 to 3 hrs. The amount of inactivity is incredible. Watching paint dry doesn't really cover it. Absolute disgrace! Shame on ABP for allowing this to continue unchecked. They are a major contributor to the ever downward spiral of drivers wanting to do the job! They have a policy of only allowing 8 trucks on the "restricted zone" at any one time, that's OK, but also do not allow completed turnarounds off for a period up to 20 mins per vehicle. Is it a game or just a joke? Perhaps ABP could explain

Why does I take over an hour to book 6 trucks in? I arrived at 18.15 to find 8 trucks in front of me and at 19.00 there were still three waiting to book in.

Easy to locate and signage is good once in you will be required to fill out form with reference numbers before booking in .staff are all freindly and helpful.
H&s is main priority to abp and do enforce ,limited driver facilities ie toilets which are clean. Can be long turnaround times but most days 30 to 60 mins .
The yard is going through a rebuild ,

Without doubt the worst inland container terminal in the UK.
This is not aimed at the staff they do their best with a very poor management team behind them hindering them and making their job impossible.
Drivers are treated like absolute dirt - made to Q for hours before then having to Q again in the pouring rain to book in because the system is so slow.
Their website tells you how many trucks are in the terminal and the average turn around time, but this doesn't include the time that you have waited to book in - which can be hours.
Management are more concerned about you wearing gloves when

Took two hours to que to book in once I was on the terminal less than 15 minutes to tip and turn looks good on the kpis but costing haulage and shipping companies money in down time plus late deliveries to who it matters customers .

Too many bad reviews about this abp terminal ,many drivers considered this worst terminal of uk,but these compliments not enough for this terminal, actually this is worst container terminal of the world, takes hours just for lift off mt or loaded containers, mostly companies plan two jobs for drivers(10 to 12h plan)
But they forget 8 hours we need here for pick our containers.
I don't why management team just show about ppe, like put u r gloves during booking and don't care about hours of waiting.

Slow as chuff. Takes 4/5 hours if not more to go through due to changes made by new management. Shame used to be quite a quick port.

I understand that the lifter drivers have to be trained but when there's a 2 hour queue it's not the best action. Every job this week, I've been late due to all 9 visits here have been 2 hours or more.
