Lovely hotel over 100 years old. It has, a lovely calm and charming atmosphere which is exactly what I needed. The staff could not be more helpful or kind, so needed in this world of unnecessarily bad reviews. Continental breakfast in a clean airy sunny room, (looks to me like it was probababy a thriving ballroom in its heyday) no rush, in my own time, absolutely lovely start to my day. The proprietors are doing their utmost. Give them a chance to improve a very large hotel they have been handed a huge task. I hear they may be having live music soon... There are some very talented musicians on

Got to be the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Receptionist said she spoke with head office for full refund still no reply. Rooms not cleaned old linen on the floor bins not emptied. No towels no hot water and the drains blocked. And the was all the 5 rooms I booked for friends and family. To make it worse they put me and my partner on the top floor with our 3 month old boy. The hotel should be shut down until it’s renovated even the receptionist advise me not to have the breakfast there as there are so many complaints.

Gets a bad reputation, even though the corridors are a little dirty and there is a bit of a musty smell the owners and staff are trying really hard to fix all the problems. Near the pool area I've seen staff renovating which is a good sign they are taking steps to improve. As for my room it was quite nice. Not really a view but had clean bed sheets and a good shower so what else do you need

Do not stay here. Run for your life. Staff tried their best. Not enough parking. Litter and rubbish in car park. Tatty and worn interior. No carpets and where there are they have huge burn marks on them. Room small. Couldn’t open the balcony door - balcony is not regulation height so health and safety issue. Room stuffy and hot as only 1 fan light window can open. No light bulbs. Awful mattress. Felt dirty. We checked out immediately. Sub standard.

Just shocking. This place should not be opened. Kept waiting for 3 hours to check in and told they have no linen. Corridors have no carpet on. Just bare gripper rods. The council closed the place and still should be closed. Absolutely shocking filthy dirty. Wouldn’t stay there if it was free. Struggling to get our refund sorted. Manager very rude Unsafe property terrible
